Tigers, Longhorns compete in Perritte Relays

Linden-Kildare and McLeod competed in the Perritte Relays hosted by Hughes Springs on Mar. 24.

Varsity Boys

For L-K’s varsity boys’ team, Jaquavious Birmingham placed first overall at 11.29 and Daquavious Richardson placed second at 11.59, in the 200m dash Asher Wells placed first at 23.69, in the 800m run Logan Grandmason placed fourth at 2:24.60, the 4x100m relay team of Charlie Kirkland, Ja’Kyrick Nard, Wells and Birmingham placed first at 45.53 and the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed first at 1:34.98.

In the field events, Birmingham placed first in long jump at 19 feet, 1 inches, Nard placed fourth at 15 feet, 10 inches and Kirkland placed sixth at 15 feet, 3 inches, in triple jump Nard placed third at 32 feet, 11 inches and in high jump Birmingham placed second at 5 feet, 10 inches.

For McLeod’s varsity boys’ team, Trenton McKnight placed third at 58.33, in the 800m run Logan McClain and Braden Patrick placed 5-6 with times of 2:26.37 and 2:27.56 respectively, in the 1600m run Jase Deaton placed third at 5:19.15 and T.J. Klingensmith placed fifth at 5:28.16, in the 3200m run Deaton placed second at 11:47.27 and Klingensmith placed fourth at 12:46.08 and the 4x400m relay team of Patrick, McClain, McKnight and Tyler Williams placed second at 3:51.87.

In the field events, McKnight placed first in high jump at 5 feet, 10 inches and McLain placed third at 5 feet, 8 inches, in shot Preston Bishop placed first with a toss of 36 feet, 1/2 inch and in discus Bishop placed sixth at 94 feet, 6 inches.

Varsity Girls

For L-K’s varsity girls’ team, Madilyn Bynum placed second at 13.21 and Ashtin Patterson placed fourth at 13.78, in the 200m dash Bynum placed third at 28.73, in the 400m dash Charis Minson placed fifth at 1:13.78 and in the 800m run Minson placed fifth at 2:58.90.

In the field events, Minson placed fifth in long jump with a leap of 12 feet, 10 1/2 inches, Maddy Ebarb placed third in shot with a heave of 26 feet, 6 1/4 inches and in discus Rylee Burns placed fourth with a throw of 71 feet, 6 inches and Ebarb placed sixth with a toss of 69 feet, 2 inches.

For McLeod’s varsity girls’ team, Lyla McKnight placed fourth in the 400m dash at 1:09.69 and teammate Jaci Armstrong placed sixth at 1:14.50, in the 800m run Rielyn Schubert placed fourth at 2:53.26 and Reagan Mitchell placed sixth at 3:03.94, in the 1600m run Schubert placed second at 6:27.81, in the 3200m run Schubert placed second at 13.56.30, in the 300m hurdles Chassie Gryder placed first at 57.32 and in high jump Ella Lambeth placed second at 4 feet, 6 inches.

JV Boys

For McLeod’s JV boys’ team, Braden Bascombe placed fourth at 27.47 in the 200m dash, in the 800m run Dylan Bouchard placed third at 2:26.79, Trey Gant placed fourth at 2:28.53 and Ethan Arledge placed sixth at 2:32.36, in the 1600m run Bouchard placed first at 5:28.31 and Cole Autry placed fifth at 5:56.09, in the 3200m run Autry placed second at 13:59.56, in shot Tristan Kennedy placed fourth with a toss of 28 feet, 8 inches and in discus Heath Shelton placed sixth with a heave of 56 feet, 11 inches.
