Tigers clip Eagles, 19-5

Linden-Kildare notched another district win Apr. 13, after beating the Detroit Eagles, 19-5, in five innings.

L-K plated three runs in the top of the first inning but the Eagles closed the gap after scoring two runs in the bottom half of the first frame.

The Tigers blew the gates off the hinges with an 11-run third inning which put them up, 14-2.

Detroit scored three runs in the bottom half of the third stanza which prolonged the game.

L-K went on to score five more runs in a window of two innings.

The Tigers outhit Detroit 14-4 and racked up eight doubles on the day.

Carter Foreman ended the game 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs, Mason Johnson was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Hunter Crenshaw was 2-for-5 with an RBI, Tawin Patterson hit a double in the contest, Jackson Lee hit a double and had an RBI, Clayton Mulkey hit a double and had two ribbies, Colton Anderson was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Colt Neville and Jonathan Owen both hit doubles and had two ribeyes apiece.

Trey Phillips scattered four hits over three innings with five strikeouts and Kyler Fitts struck out three with no hits given up over two innings of work.
