Stringer earns Athlete of the Week honors
Each week the Longview Orthopedic STAR Foundation takes an opportunity to celebrate a male and female student-athlete from one of the nearly 60 schools they service in 10 counties.
Last week, they have selected Queen City’s Mallori Stringer as the Student-Athlete of the week. Mallori was nominated by head volleyball coach, April Chism, for her leadership in the classroom, on the court, and at other campuses where she volunteers.
Her determination to succeed in all areas of her life is evident in the daily sacrifices she makes. Mallori’s hustle and heart are what sets her apart. She will run through a brick wall and never mention the pain until months later.
Mallori was honored in front of her parents, head volleyball coach April Chism, our community partner Carolyn Thompson from First National Bank of Hughes Springs, Longview Orthopedic Community Outreach partner Terri Deike and the entire Queen City High School student body.
In addition, Mallori will receive a monetary award for her higher education pursuits, and she is now a nominee for Student-Athlete of the Year and is eligible for a major gift in the spring if selected.
