Atlanta High School students in Mr. Carnley’s Ag Math and Ms. LaGrone’s Forestry classes met with local forester Greg Anthony who walked students through the timber procurement process. Students collected data using mathematical equations, and then they moved into the classroom where they calculated standing timber volumes. The third day, students used real market prices to prepare a bid to submit to a private land owner and watched videos of real local logging jobs. The week ended with students taking a tour of Ward Timber, a pine/hardwood sawmill.
Bloomburg Elementary School’s first ever House Challenge Field Day was an ultimate success. Coach Jones and Coach Stanley did a fantastic job organizing the day and everyone really enjoyed going all out in their house colors.
McLeod second-fourth graders made special memories at their field trip to the Dixie Corn Maze.
Queen City High School students in Mrs. Chickadel’s Physics classes worked in groups to create a vessel that would hold a raw egg and keep it from breaking as it was dropped from the top of Smith-Wall stadium. The egg drop
project helps students explore basic physic concepts such as gravity, force, and acceleration. Three of the five were successful.
Last week, during lunch, Linden-Kildare CISD 2022-23 Student Council representatives and officers made their speeches about the way they hope to change and impact our school. Such courageous and impressive leaders.
