Atlanta
Atlanta’s track program competed in the Paul Parr Relays hosted by Liberty-Eylau on Mar. 31.
Varsity Boys
In the 100m dash Zakyus Jackson placed fifth at 11.27, in the 200m dash Markeylin Batton placed sixth at 23.64, in the 400m dash Eli Riojas placed first at 52.95 and Jaquan Robinson placed fifth at 53.74, in the 110m hurdles Stacy Darty placed second at 15.60 and in the 300m hurdles Darty placed fourth at 41.88.
In the 800m run Matthew Morin placed third at 2:07.12, in the 1600m run Morin placed fourth at 4:53.00 and in the 3200m run Morin placed fourth at 10:50.00.
The 4x200m relay team of Batton, Isaiah Chandler, JaBranden Wells and Matthew Cauley placed first at 1:29.07 and the 4x400m relay team of Ahmani Jackson, Chandler, Wells and Cauley placed first at 3:29.88.
Darty placed fifth in long jump at 20 feet, 7 inched and placed third in triple jump with a mark of 41 feet, 8 inches.
Varsity Girls
In the 100m dash Caitlynn Bailey placed sixth at 13.27, in the 400m dash MaKayla Martin placed fourth at 1:04.32, in the 800m run Kaylon Partain placed fourth at 2:37.46, in the 1600m run Aurelia Giesler placed second at 6:01.00 and in the 3200m run Giesler placed third at 13:22.34.
The 4x100m relay team of Toya Hurd, Zaraiah Johnson, MaKaylin King and Carlajah Adger placed sixth at 51.48 and the 4x400m relay team of Hurd, Martin, Partain and Destinee Webster placed third at 4:20.00.
In long jump Hurd placed fourth at 17 feet, 4 1/2 inches, in triple jump Kym Sheppard placed second at 35 feet, 5 inches and in high jump Bailey placed first at 5 feet, 6 inches and broke a school record in the process.
JV Boys
In the 100m dash LaRandion Dowden placed second at 11.30, in the 200m dash Cooper Swanson placed third at 24.06 and Xavier Nash placed sixth at 24.64, in the 400m dash Chase Kindred placed fourth at 56.45, in the 110m hurdles Marquayvious Richardson placed fourth at 17.98, in the 300m hurdles Richardson placed third at 44.79 and Kaleb Fransisco placed fourth at 45.47, in the 800m run Will Davis placed sixth at 2:27.09 and in the 1600m run Ethan Scott placed sixth at 5:35.00.
The 4x100m relay team of Jaymarian Austen, Nash, Swanson and Dowden placed fourth at 46.25, the 4x200m relay team of Hale, Austen, Nash and Carmello Henderson placed second at 1:37.26 and the 4x400m relay team of Swanson, Dowden, Fransisco and Kindred placed second at 3:50.12.
In high jump Prayduz Thomas placed fourth at 5 feet, 8 inches and Dimoree Limbrick placed sixth at 5 feet, 6 inches and in shot Kheaton Kinney placed second at 37 feet, 3 inches and Nash placed fifth at 35 feet, 1 inch.
In the 400m dash Breonna Phelps placed fifth at 1:11.92.
Bloomburg
Junior high athletes at Bloomburg competed in the District 24 track meet at Harts Bluff on Mar. 28.
For the boys, Weston Mangrum placed fourth in triple jump with a leap of 30 feet, 1 inch, and for the girls, Allyssa Dixon placed fourth in the 800m run at 3:15.85, Kyra Mangrum placed third in triple jump with a mark of 24 feet, 6 1/2 inches and Brookelynn Harrist placed sixth in triple jump at 21 feet, 3 inches.
Atlanta, Queen City finish 1-2 at district meet
Atlanta and Queen City junior high track teams competed in the district meet on Mar. 28, at New Boston High School.
Atlanta’s seventh grade boys and eighth grade boys finished first, and Queen City’s seventh grade boys and eighth grade boys finished second overall.
Atlanta 7
In the 100m dash Jacolby Wells placed fourth at 13.26 and Kaigen Loyd placed fifth at 13.40, in the 200m dash Jaden Smith placed second at 27.06, Aaron Slaten placed third at 27.90 and Loyd placed fifth at 28.40 and in the 400m dash Liam McKinney placed first at 1:03.00, Brant Aldridge placed fifth at 1:07.18 and Colby Alaimo placed sixth at 1:07.21.
In the 800m run McKinney placed first at 2:31.11, in the 1600m run Andres Campos placed fifth at 6:13.85 and Joey Durr placed sixth at 6:26.98, in the 110m hurdles Easton Patterson placed fifth at 20.57 and Aiden Eason placed sixth at 20.62 and in the 300m hurdles Eason placed first at 53.42 and Patterson placed third at 54.88.
The 4x100m relay team of Landon Thomas, T.J. Hamilton, Wells and Smith placed second at 50.71, the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed first at 1:49.12 and the 4x400m relay team of Thomas, Hamilton, McKinney and Slaten placed first at 4:22.97.
In the long jump Loyd placed sixth at 14 feet, 7 inches, in the high jump McKinney placed fourth at 4 feet, 6 inches, in the triple jump Thomas placed first at 32 feet, 5 1/2 inches and Smith placed fifth at 30 feet, 2 inches, in discus Jaylen Finley placed third at 98 feet, 9 inches and Wells placed fifth at 97 feet, 6 inches and in shot Kam Williams placed second with a toss of 35 feet, 5 inches, Wells placed third at 32 feet, 6 inches and Finley placed fifth at 30 feet, 2 inches.
Atlanta 8
In the 200m dash Omeria Kinney placed fourth at 26.56, in the 400m dash Brennon Allen placed third at 1:01.68, Aden Bolt placed fifth at 1:02.89 and Kayden Linwood placed sixth at 1:03.32 and in the 110m hurdles Keegan Surratt placed second at 19.14.
In the 800m run Allen placed first at 2:26.30 and Kason Boyd placed fourth at 2:32.99, in the 1600m run Braylen Bush placed second at 5:51.00 and Campbell Autrey Placed third at 5:58.81 and in the 2400m run Autrey placed first at 9:25.28 and Bush placed third at 9:48.00.
The 4x100m relay team of Jayden Riley, Kinney, Toddy Webster and Eli Mitchell placed first at 48.28, the 4x200m relay team of Riley, Kinney, Linwood and Mitchell placed first at 1:41.00 and the 4x400m relay team of Christian Warren, Riley, Surratt and Bolt placed first at 3:58.09.
In long jump Riley placed first at 19 feet, 11 inches, in triple jump Webster placed third at 34 feet, 10 inches and Mitchell placed fourth at 34 feet, 1 inch, in shot Riley placed thirds with a heave of 39 feet, 7 inches and in discus Tevin Thursby placed second at 130 feet, 10 inches and Nate Hernandez placed third at 124 feet, 8 inches.
Queen City 7
In the 200m dash Martrevious Banks placed fourth at 27.93, in the 400m dash Trenton Belk placed second at 1:04.34, in the 800m run Kenzie Wiggans placed second at 2:37.42 and Payden Glass placed third at 2:39.96, in the 1600m run Glass placed second at 6:05.00, in the 2400m run Dion Metzger placed third at 10:10.00 and James Gladden placed fourth at 10:14.00 and in the 300m hurdles Trent Treadway placed fifth at 56.12 and Evan Benson placed sixth at 56.56.
The 4x100m relay team of Gavyn Donaldson, Banks, Kindrick Young and Derell Sewell placed third at 51.65, the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed third at 1:51.71 and the 4x400m relay team of Donaldson, Jacob Webster, Sewell and Belk placed second at 4:27.00.
In the long jump event Donaldson placed second at 15 feet, 7 inches, in high jump Young placed third at 4 feet, 8 inches, in triple jump Belk placed fourth at 30 feet, 3 inches, in discus David Jackson placed second at 108 feet, 4 inches and in shot Jackson placed first at 40 feet, 1 inches.
Queen City 8
In the 200m dash Derrick Henson placed first at 24.95, in the 400m dash Daketrick Smith placed first at 58.97, in the 100m hurdles Tyson Blaylock placed fifth at 19.77 and in the 300m hurdles Blaylock placed third at 48.53.
In the 800m run Montana Aleman placed second at 2:28.00 and Caleb Kimble placed fifth at 2:39.40, in the 1600m run Wyatt Peacock placed sixth at 6:28.28 and in the 2400m run Peacock placed fourth at 10:34.00.
The 4x100m relay team of Henson, Malachi Richardson, Smith and Jason Joffary placed third at 48.93, the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed second at 1:43.00 and the 4x400m relay team of Henson, T.J. Guest, Smith and Leevi Byrum placed second at 4:16.08.
In long jump Smith placed second at 19 feet, 1/2 an inch, in high jump Henson placed third at 5 feet, 2 inches, in triple jump Henson placed first at 38 feet, 4 inches, in shot Byrum placed fifth at 36 feet, 5 inches and in discus Byrum placed first at 136 feet even.
Linden-Kildare
On Mar. 31, Linden-Kildare’s boy’s and girls’ track teams traveled to Elysian Fields to compete in the Yellow Jacket Invitational.
Varsity Boys
The 4x100m relay team of Jay Birmingham, Daquavious Richardson, Charlie Kirkland and Asher Wells placed fourth, the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed fifth, Richardson placed fourth in the 100m dash, Wells placed fifth in the 200m dash, Birmingham placed second in high jump and sixth in long jump and in the 800m run Logan Grandmason and Hayden Helm both set personal records.
Varsity Girls
Madi Bynum placed first in both the 100m and 200m dash events, LaSonya Nard placed first in shot and third in discus, Maddy Ebarb placed third in shot, Charis Minson placed sixth in the 400m dash, and the 4x100m relay team of Zoe Love, Bynum, Minson and Ashtin Patterson placed fourth.
On Mar. 28, Linden-Kildare’s junior high track and field athletes competed in the district track meet at Rivercrest.
The seventh grade girls’ team won a district title and the eighth grade girls placed second overall. The seventh grade boys’ team placed third overall and the eighth grade boys competed individually. First place finishes were individual district champs as well.
