Runnin’ Rabbs win Tommy Miller Relays

Atlanta competed in the Tommy Miller Relays hosted by Hallsville on Mar. 24.

The varsity boys’ squad topped the field with 102 points which included a sweep in the relays.

Atlanta beat out a host of 3A, 4A and 5A teams en route to a team title.

Lindale was second with 93 points, Whitehouse followed with 90, Hallsville had 71, Texas High 50, Pine Tree 44, Jefferson 40, Kilgore 30, Liberty-Eylau 28, Chapel Hill 23, Pleasant Grove 15, Waskom 15, Gilmer 11 and Gladewater eight.

Varsity Boys

For varsity boys’ team, Markeylin Batton placed second in the 100m dash at 11.34 and second in the 200m dash at 23.16, Matthew Morin placed sixth in the 1600m run at 4:51.23 and Stacy Darty placed third in the 110m hurdles at 16.81 and second in the 300m hurdles at 41.45.

The 4x100m relay team of JaBranden Wells, Batton, Ahmani Jackson and Isaiah Chandler placed first at 42.47, the 4x200m relay team of Wells, Jackson, Chandler and Matthew Cauley placed first at 1:29.70 and the 4x400m relay team of Wells, Jackson, Chandler and Cauley placed first at 3:28.57.

In the long jump event, Darty placed second with a leap of 21 feet, 1 inch and Shayden Williams placed third at 5 feet, 8 inches.

Varsity Girls

For the varsity girls’ team, Caitlynn Bailey placed second at 13.33 and Zariah Johnson placed fourth at 13.55 in the 100m dash, in the 200m dash Carlajah Adger placed fifth at 28.19, in the 800m run Kaylon Partain placed fourth at 2:32.83, the 4x100m relay team of Adger, MaKaylin King, Johnson and Toya Hurd placed second at 51.30, the 4200m relay team of Adger, King, Hurd and Destinee Webster placed sixth at 1:51.32, in long jump Kym Sheppard placed fourth at 16 feet, 1 inch, in high jump Bailey placed first at 5 feet, 2 inches and in shot KeyMya Smith placed sixth at 30 feet, 5 inches.

JV Boys

For the JV boys’ team, LaRandion Dowden placed third at 23.22 in the 200m dash, in the 400m dash Eli Riojas placed second at 55.79, in the 800m run Riojas placed first at 2:14.52, in the 300m hurdles Marquayvious Richardson placed fifth at 45.72 and in high jump Prayduz Thomas placed second at 5 feet, 8 inches.

The 4x100m relay team of Jaymarian Austen, Cooper Swanson, Dowden and Xavier Nash placed fourth at 45.44, the 4x200m relay team of Cooper Swanson, Dowden, Carmello Henderson and Hudson Hale placed third at 1:35.44 and the 4x400m relay team of Swanson, Chase Kindred, Hale and Riojas placed fourth at 3:46.73.
