Rabbits earn All-District honors after turnaround year

Atlanta’s football team had quite a turnaround this season.

Last year the Rabbs finished the season winless, but this year Atlanta posted a 7-4 record under first-year Head Coach Tyler Morton and his staff and made the playoffs.

All-District superlatives were recently released and several Rabbs took home honors.

Senior Stacy Darty was named Co-Offensive MVP, senior Russell Limbrick was named Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year and sophomore standout Markeylin Batton was named Co-Utility MVP.

Players who earned First Team honors were: senior Isaiah Chandler, junior Dimoree Limbrick, sophomore Peyton Harrison, junior Marquavion Owens and senior Kameron Dickerson.

Players who earned Second Team honors were: senior Brendan Clayton, freshman Jayden Riley, senior Ja’Marion Owens, junior Jalarrion Andrews and junior Carmello Henderson.

Honorable Mention recipients were: senior Caden Walker, freshman Nate Hernandez, junior Kanya Simmons and senior Jaymari Howard.

Sophomores Ty Waldon and Chris Hale both earned Academic All-District honors.
