Queen City volleyball ups district record to 8-0

Queen City’s varsity volleyball team ran its district record to 7-0 after a tough 5-set win over New Boston on Oct. 3.

The Lady Bulldogs lost the first set 25-21 but won the next two sets 25-14 and 25-18.

New Boston won the fourth set 25-23 which forced a fifth and deciding set which QC won 15-12.

Mallori Stringer led with 20 service points, Serenity Oden added nine and Lauren Carrell posted eight. The JV1 team also won by scores of 25-22, 2511. Ruby McCasland led with 16 service points and Brooklynn Garner added seven.

The Jv2 squad won by scores of 25-18, 25-8. Bre McConnell led with 11 service points, and both Kaylin Griffin and Mallory Hamilton added seven apiece.

The Lady Bulldogs remain undefeated on their home court for all three Lady Bulldog teams.

On Oct. 6, the Lady Bulldogs beat Hooks in four sets and upped its district record to 8-0 in the process.

Hooks won the first set 25-23 but QC won the next three by scores of 25-17, 25-10, 25-23.

Serenity Oden had 13 kills, Trinity Oden added nine, Lauren Carrell posted five and Mallori Stringer dropped three aces.
