M.U.M.S.

The Queen City Lady Bulldogs’ volleyball program played two inner-county teams recently in Hughes Springs and Linden-Kildare.

The middle school teams battled Hughes Springs Aug. 31.

The seventh grade A team won in two sets, 25-14, 25- 12, with Dori Sasser posting 12 service points and Kieran Thomas recording 11.

The seventh grade B team lost in two close matchups, 25- 22, 12-11, but Isabella Sullivan had four service points for QC.

The eighth grade A team won, 25-16, 25-18, with Brenna Turbeville putting up 12 service points and Taylor Ward adding 11.

The eighth grade B team lost but Jacossa Griffin had eight service points.

Varsity

The Lady Bulldogs competed with Hughes Springs and fell in four sets.

Junior Tia Wilson had 10 kills, senior Gracie Weeks had five kills and eight service points, freshman setter Mallori Stringer had eight assists and 12 service points, senior Claire Bates had 12 service points and freshman Alex Larry had six service points.

On Sept. 4, Queen City swept Linden-Kildare in three sets, 25-17, 25-23, 25-18. Angelyna Meggs had 12 service points for the Lady Tigers.

For QC Gracie Weeks had six kills, Chyna Stiger had 10 service points with five back-to-back aces, Tia Wilson had nine kills, setter Mallori Stringer had six assists and 12 service points and Alex Larry had 11 service points.
