Queen City powerlifters earn first place at Maud Invitational

Queen City powerlifters competed Jan 14, at the Maud Invitational Powerlifting Meet. The Bulldogs took 17 boys and one girl to the event.

Overall, the Queen City boys’ team placed first against the 12 other schools present which included juggernaut Texas High.

The lone Lady Bulldog Erica Lavoie placed fourth in her respective weight class.

For the guys Justin Lance was a beast at the bar as he placed first in the 242-pound weight class with a squat total of 650 pounds, a bench total of 285 pounds and a deadlift total of 485 pounds.

Cedric Davis also tossed up beast-like numbers as he placed first in the Super Heavy Weight (SHW) division with a squat total of 660 pounds, a bench total of 335 pounds and a deadlift total of 500 pounds.

Kenneth Allison placed second in the 132-pound weight class, Delvon Federick placed first in the 148’s, Christian Nard placed fourth in the 148-pound weight class, Charlie Kirkland-Campbell placed eighth in the 148-pound weight class, James Obenoskey placed fifth in the 165’s, Kaden Satterfield placed ninth in the 165’s, Logan Niedens placed fourth in the 165’s, Clint Wooding placed seventh in the 181’s, Mason Stringer placed eighth in the 181’s, Aaron Jones placed sixth in the 198’s, Tanner McCarthy placed sixth in the 220-pound weight class, Daniel Jones placed sixth in the 242’s and Rhyen Pope placed seventh in the 275-pound weight class.

QC power will compete in the Tri-Meet Saturday, Feb. 13, with Linden-Kildare and Clarksville.
