Queen City Lady Bulldogs battle trio of teams
Queen City’s varsity volleyball team battled three teams last week and earned a 2-1 record in the process.
Game 1
The Lady Bulldogs cruised to a three-set victory over Clarksville on Aug. 11, with scores of, 25-5, 25-9, 25-8.
Senior Hannah Fitts posted four kills, junior Tia Wilson added seven kills and three blocks, senior Chloe Phillippi had five aces and freshman Mallori Stringer recorded four aces.
Game 2
QC followed that performance with a four-set win over Union Grove on Aug. 14.
Union Grove won the first set, 25-14, but Queen City took the next three by scores of, 25-15, 25-19 and 25-18, to take the match.
Tia Wilson had seven kills and nine service points to her credit, Loran Carrol added five kills, Nyla Harrison had 10 service points and Chyna Stiger posted 13 service points.
Game 3
Later that day on Aug. 14, the Lady Bulldogs suffered its first loss of the season to Mt. Pleasant Chapel Hill.
The Lady Red Devils won the contest by scores of, 25-11, 25-9 and 25-17.
Tia Wilson had seven service points for the Lady Bulldogs and Gracie Weeks had five service points.
Most of the points in the contest for Queen City were aces.
