Queen City, L-K compete in Omaha
Queen City and Linden-Kildare track and field participants competed in the Doug Sibley Relays hosted by Paul Pewitt on Mar. 3.
Queen City placed fourth in the varsity boys’ division, Linden-Kildare placed third by the smallest of margins in the varsity girls’ division and QC’s JV boys’ team placed second in its division behind Pittsburg.
Linden-Kildare Varsity Girls
In the 200m dash Jamiah Birmingham placed second and Madi Bynum third at 27.13 and 27.57 respectively, in the 100m hurdles Jacee Quaid placed sixth at 19.53, in the 300m hurdles Quaid placed fourth at 56.51, in the long jump Carley Hays placed third at 12 feet, 8 inches and in the triple jump Birmingham placed second at 32 feet, 9 1/4 inches.
The 4x100m relay team of Ashtin Patterson, Bynum, Birmingham and Jakiah Birmingham placed second at 51.78 and the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed second at 1:50.71.
Queen City Varsity Boys
For the QC varsity boys, DJ Henson placed fourth in the 100m dash at 11.30, Nicolas Herring placed fourth in the 200m dash at 23.75, Trent Granberry placed first in the 400m dash at 53.15 and Lathan Chamblee sixth at 56.45 and Clint wooding placed third at 21.40 in the 110m hurdles.
The 4x100m relay team of Henson, Granberry, Delvon Federick and Jeremiah Drayton placed third at 44.72, the 4x200m relay team of Henson, Herring, Kaden Fincher and Federick placed fourth at 1:36.87 and the 4x4 relay team of Henson, Herring, Granberry and Federick placed third at 3:48.40. In the long jump Henson and Federick both placed third with marks of 19 feet, 5 inches, Federick placed second in the triple jump at 39 feet, 3 inches and Henson placed fourth at 38 feet, 2 inches and Clint Wooding placed third in the high jump at 5 feet, 6 inches.
Varsity Girls
For the Lady Bulldogs, the 4x100m relay team of Toni McCellon, Cassidy Johnson, Amyia Young and Makayla Wilson placed third at 53.78, McCellon placed second in the 300m hurdles at 52.00, Johnson placed first in the triple jump at 33 feet, 3 inches and Dori Sasser placed third at 31 feet, 6 inches and in the high jump event McCellon placed first at 5 feet, 2 inches.
JV Boys
In the 100m dash Kaleb Francisco placed first at 11.47 and Christian Nard placed sixth at 12.37, in the 400m dash Keegan Salers placed fourth at 1:00.06 and Montana Aleman placed sixth at 1:00.96, in the 110m hurdles Trevonne Horsley and Sebastian Aleman placed 3-4 with times of 20.09 and 20.61 respectively and in the 300m hurdles Horsley and S. Aleman placed 5-6 with times of 54.13 and 55.08 respectively.
In the 800m run Montana Aleman placed third at 2:23.81 and Caleb Kimble fourth at 2:27.06 and in the 1600m run M. Aleman placed fourth at 6:05.97.
The QC relay teams burned up the track with two first place finishes and one second place finish.
The 4x100m relay team of Brayden Wiley, Daketrick Smith, Nard and Francisco placed second at 46.70, the 4x200m relay team of Wiley, Smith, Francisco and Cole Byrd placed first at 1:39.09 and the 4x4 relay team of Wiley, Smith, Kimble and Byrd placed first at 3:58.51.
In the field events Tavon Andrews placed fourth at 35 feet, 8 inches in triple jump and Smith placed third in high jump at 5 feet, 4 inches.
