Queen City Iron competes at FCA Lift-Off
Queen City’s powerlifting program competed in the FCA Lift-Off meet at Texas High School on Jan. 22.
Fourteen boys and seven girls attended the competition.
Overall, the Queen City boys’ powerlifting team placed sixth out of 28 teams. There was a total of 532 lifters overall.
The top five finishers received medals.
For the boys’ team, Caleb Kimble placed third place in the 123- pound weight class, Daniel Jones placed third in the 275-pound weight class, Kaden Fincher placed third in the 165-pound weight class, Kameron Wright placed fourth in the 242-pound weight class and TJ Guest placed fifth in the 132-pound weight class.
For the ladies, Aubie Kiser tied for first and received a second place overall in her weight class, and Brenna Turbeville placed fifth in the her weight class.
Other notable finishes for QC lifters include: Logan Byrd - placed sixth in the 132’s, Christian Nard - placed seventh in the in the 181’s, Tyson Bell placed 11th in the 275’s, Ke’idie Harrison - placed 14th in the 242’s, Timothy Brady - placed 16th in the 165’s, Keegan Salers - placed 19th in the 165’s, James Jones - placed 21st in the 242’s, Zoe Breach - placed sixth in her weight class, Erica Lavoie - placed seventh in her weight class, McKenna Hamilton - placed seventh in her weight class, Keri Fomby - placed eighth in her weight class and Keeli Mainer - placed 17th in her weight class.
“We as a coaching staff are very proud of how our powerlifters competed at the FCA Lift-Off.
They have been spending quite a bit of time in the weightroom and have been up bright and early every morning at 6 a.m.,” Head Coach Tommy Kimble said. “All of these young men and women set personal bests and we are proud of their hard work and dedication.”
Queen City Iron’s next meet will be Saturday, Jan. 28, as they travel to Sabine to compete in the Bo Bates Memorial Powerlifting Meet.
