Queen City crushes Clarksville, 62-0

The Queen City Bulldogs finished their pre-district portion of their schedule with a 62-0 victory over the Clarksville Tigers.

The Bulldogs received the opening kickoff and quickly drove five yards to paydirt in five plays.

Hunter Parker scored on a 2-yard run and followed that with a 2-point conversion run to give the Bulldogs an 8-0 lead with ten minutes left in the first quarter.

The Bulldogs stopped the Tigers on their only drive of the game taking over on downs at their own 7-yard line. It only took the Bulldogs two plays to cover the 93 yards with Parker connecting on the first of five touchdown passes; this one covering 70 yards to Kaleb Francisco resulting in a score of 14-0 with five minutes left in the first quarter.

The Bulldog defense continued to shut down the Tigers. The Bulldog offense continued to click as they scored on their third consecutive possession. Parker connected with Lathan Chamblee on a 19-yard pass to make the score 20-0 with three minutes left in the quarter. The Bulldog offense continued to dominate as it scored on its fourth straight possession, this time on a Jason Joffray 4-yard run making the score 26-0 early in the second quarter. The offense continued to click as it scored on its next two possessions; the first on a Christian Nard 1-yard run, and Rylee Green’s 63-yard touchdown pass from Parker with three minutes left in the first half. The score at the end of the first half was in favor of the Bulldogs 41-0. The second half continued with the Bulldog offense scoring on its only two possessions of the second half. In the third quarter, Parker connected for his fourth touchdown pass of the game with a 22yard toss to Francisco to make the score 47-0 after three quarters. The Bulldogs added two more scores in the fourth quarter to complete the scoring. Ke’Idie Harrison scored on a 12-yard run, and T.J. Guest added a 31-yard fumble return to give the Bulldogs their final 62-0 margin.

Hunter Parker had a record setting night as he set three school records. The first record was for consecutive completions of 13 in a row. The second record was for the most yards in a game; his total of 357 breaking the old record of 354 yards set in 2020 by Alex Shelton. The third school record set was last week when he threw five touchdown passes against Como-Pickton, breaking the old record of three also set in 2020 by Alex Shelton.

The victory improved the Bulldog record to 3-1; while the Tigers fell to 0-4. This week begins district play for the Bulldogs.

Queen City will host the Elysian Fields Yellowjackets this Friday, Sept. 22. The Yellowjackets will enter this contest with a 0-4 record.
