Queen City Bulldogs beat Como-Pickton, 45-0

The Queen City Bulldogs came back from a disappointing home loss last week against the New Boston Lions, with an overwhelming 45-0 victory over the Como-Pickton Eagles this Friday night. The win lifted the Bulldogs record to 2-1 while the Eagles record fell to 1-2.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring as Hunter Parker connected on a 9 yd scoring play to Malaki Richardson with T.J. Guest kick. This gave the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead with 8:50 left in the first quarter. The Bulldogs, after forcing an Eagle punt, score on Parker’s second touchdown pass of the night, this time 68 yds to Rylee Green. The kick failed leaving the score 13-0 with 3:38 remaining in the first quarter.

The Bulldog defense continued to dominate the Eagles’ offense, this time stopping them on a 4th down on the Bulldog 27 yd line. It took the Bulldogs only two plays to strike paydirt as Parker connected on his third touchdown pass of the game. Parker again connected with Green this time the score covered 53 yds. Guest connected on his second conversion giving the Bulldogs a 20-0 lead with 11:48 remaining in the second quarter. The Bulldogs added two more scores to finish the half 32-0; Parker throws fourth touchdown pass of 17 yds to Kaleb Francisco, and a final Bulldog touchdown with 3:23 left in the 2nds quarter on a Delvon Federick 64-yard run.

Parker finished his night as he threw his fifth touchdown pass of the game, connecting with Green on a 17 yd scoring strike with 7:31 left in the third quarter making the score 39-0. The final Bulldog score happened with 11:08 left in the game as Richardson connected with D.J. Henson on an 18 yd scoring strike, giving the Bulldogs their final score of the night. The game was called shortly after due to weather. The final score was Queen City 45, Como-Pickton 0.

The Bulldog defense played a great game holding the Eagles to 46 yds of total offense and forcing three turnovers. The offense also had a good night rushing for 275 yds and passing for 219 yds with no turnovers.

This week, the Clarksville Tigers will travel to Queen City to take on the Bulldogs for homecoming.
