Queen City boys’, girls’ track win titles

Queen City’s track programs won titles at the Gerald Pinkham Relays Apr. 1, in DeKalb.

Varsity Boys

The varsity boys outdistanced the field with 100 points, DeKalb was second with 87, Hooks had 85, Pewitt 84, Hughes Springs 79, Redwater 70, New Boston 60, Linden-Kildare 42 and James Bowie 13.

In the 100m dash Nicolas Herring placed sixth at 11.57; in the 200m dash Alijuah Drayton placed first at 22.68 and Jeremiah Drayton placed third at 23.10; in the 400m dash Trent Granberry placed fourth at 54.81; in the 110m hurdles Quiyon Ellison placed fifth at 18.22; in the 800m run Joel Upchurch placed sixth at 2:21.12 and in the 3200m run Granberry placed fourth at 12:07.65.

The 4x100m relay team of Spencer Warren, J. Drayton, A. Drayton and Josh Davis placed third at 44.91; the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed second at 1:34.77 and the 4x400m relay team of Warren, Herring, Granberry and Kaden Fincher placed fifth at 3:53.15.

In the long jump event A. Drayton placed third at 18 feet, 9 inches; in triple jump Jeremiah Drayton placed second with a leap of 38 feet even and Ellison placed third at 37 feet, 8 1/2 inches; in pole vault Upchurch placed second with a mark of 11 feet, 6 inches and Warren placed fourth at 11 feet even and in shot put Cedric Davis placed second at 42 feet, 5 inches.

Varsity Girls

The varsity girls rolled up 134 points with Redwater finishing second with 109 points, Pewitt had 83, DeKalb 78, James Bowie 69, New Boston 62, Hughes Springs 51, L-K 17 and Hooks 15.

In the 100m dash Nyla Harrison placed third at 12.82; in the 200m dash Ivory Larry placed first at 26.46; in the 400m dash Serenity Oden Placed fifth at 1:08.91; in the 300m hurdles Toni McCellon placed first at 52.57; the 4x100m relay team of Larry, Harrison, Emma Baker and Cassidy Johnson placed second at 51.68; the 4x200m relay team of Baker, Harrison, Larry and Oden placed second at 1:51.47 and the 4x400m relay team of Oden, Jamecia Cook, McCellon and Lauren Carrell placed second at 4:30.97.

In the long jump Ivory Larry placed fourth at 14 feet, 8 1/2 inches; in triple jump Nyla Harrison placed first with a leap of 35 feet, 10 inches, Cassidy Johnson placed third at 32 feet, 7 1/2 inches and Ivory Larry placed fifth at 31 feet, 4 inches; in the high jump Toni McCellon placed second at 4 feet, 10 inches and Serenity Oden placed fifth at 4 feet, 4 inches; in pole vault Chloe Phillipi placed fifth at 7 feet even; in shot Chyna Stiger placed first with a toss of 34 feet, 11 inches and in discus Stiger placed first with a mark of 87 feet, 6 1/2 inches and Erica Lavoie placed fourth at 80 feet, 9 inches.
