Queen City archers turn in solid numbers
On Feb. 3-4, 150 Queen City archers competed in the 2023 Texas-NASP Virtual State Qualifying Tournament.
Each team advanced to the highly anticipated 2023 Texas-NASP State Tournament on March 2223. Queen City student archers, coaches, and parents will travel to Belton, Texas where 3,800 archers are expected to compete from across the state.
QC’s High School Team - ranked sixth out of 87 schools, the Middle School Team - ranked fourth out of 59 schools and the Elementary Team - ranked 10th out of 37 schools.
High School Team Qualifiers include Gracie Alexander, Corey Black, Bryant Breach, Xander Brown, Bailey Endsley, TJ Guest, Caleb Kimble, Jaron Jaynes, James Jones, Madison Knight, Erica Lavoie, Ryan Lee, JT Matlock, Emily Raines, Ryan Raines, Joseph Revey, Brody Russell, Keegan Salers, Isaac Thomas, Katleyn Upchurch, Aniyah Wilson and Clint Wooding.
QC has seven High School Individuals who qualified for the state tournament (top 100 in the state): Corey Black, Bailey Endsley, TJ Guest, Caleb Kimble, Erica Lavoie, Emily Raines and Clint Wooding.
Middle School Team Qualifiers (sixth-eighth grade) include Carter Aucoin, Bailee Black, Asher Bolt, Chris Brown, Kingston Boyter, Jaxon Carroll, Cameron Clarke, Karter Clarke, Emma Deering, Journey Dowden, Raven Durmon, Elli Elliott, Peyton Fahrney, MacKenzie Gaskin, James Gladden, William Hall, Hazel Helms, Jacey Knight, Madeline McMicheal, Silas Miller, Nicolas Nash, Wynter Niedens, TJ Rose, Bryson Shelton, Mariah Simmons, Sawyer Smith, Macy Snelgrove, Easton West and Anna Leigh Young.
Middle School Team Qualifiers (fourth-fifth grade) include Bostinn Beers, July Clayton, Micheal Delgado, Brooklynn Fulton, Israel Hancock, Tank Howard, Jeffrey Keith, Tesla langston, Tucker Lonk, Kutter Mitchell, Whitlee Price, Kayson Saulsbury, Israel Self, Jensen Sheets, Arri Simmons, Cael Stevens, Dahlia Stephens, Robert Stiger, Andrea Stout, Jack Sumpter, Wiliam Sutton, Colby Williams, Alice Wise and Monte Wilson.
All of QC’s participating archers also received the Academic Archer award for their excellence in academics.
