QC tops Mt. Vernon

On Aug. 15, Queen City hosted Mt. Vernon.

In the varsity match, the Lady Bulldogs varsity downed the Lady Tigers in four sets, 25-9, 20-25, 2517, 25-10. Senior, Mallori Stringer led with 20 service points and eight assists and Brenna Turbeville added nine service points with 22 digs.

Senior, Serenity Oden added 17 digs and five kills while senior Lauren Carrell led with nine kills for the night. Trinity Oden chipped in five kills and three blocks and sophomore Kerian Thomas led with 14 assists for the night.

After dropping the first set, the JV1 squad battled back to win in three sets. Gracie Alexander led with 13 service points, Reagan Hargrave added nine and Makenna Hamilton added eight.

The JV2 team lost in two sets 10-25, 15-25. Ava Norton led the Lady Bulldogs with six service points and Kaylin Griffin added four.
