QC powerlifters compete in Maud

Queen City powerlifters competed in the Maud Invitational on Feb. 2.

Schools competing were: Queen City, host, Maud, Atlanta, Linden-Kildare, James Bowie, Redwater, Tatum, DeKalb, Harleton, New Boston, Liberty-Eylau, Harmony, Texas High, Waskom, Hooks, Pewitt and Daingerfield.

The boys’ squad placed first overall and the ladies placed sixth. Daniel Jones placed first overall in the 275-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,350 pounds, Christian Nard placed first in the 181’s with a total lift of 1,125 pounds and TJ Guest placed first in the 132’s with a total lift of 770 pounds.

Kaden Fincher placed second in the 165’s with a total lift of 1,100 pounds, Caleb Kimble placed third in the 123-pound weight class with a total lift of 660 and rounding out lifters who finished in the top 5 was Kameron Wright who placed fourth in the 242-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,235 pounds.

Micah Whittington and Wyatt Peacock placed 15-16 in the 148’s with total lifts of 720 and 700 pounds respectively, Jaron Jaynes placed eighth in the 165-pound weight class with a total lift of 910 pounds, Timothy Brady placed 10th in the 165-pound weight class with a total lift of 800 pounds, Keegan Salers placed 17th in the 165’s with a total lift of 720 pounds, Ke’Idie Harrison placed 10th in the 242’s with a total lift of 1,145 pounds, Tyson Bell placed sixth in the 275’s with a total lift of 1,115 pounds and James Jones placed 13th in the 275’s with a total lift 880 pounds.

For the ladies, Aubrie Kiser placed first in her weight class with a total lift of 770 pounds, Brenna Turbeville placed second in her weight class with a total lift of 480 pounds, Erica Lavoie placed third in ger weight class with a total lift of 680 pounds, Zoe Breach placed fifth in her weight class with a total lift of 505 pounds, Keri Fomby placed seventh in her weight class with a total lift of 525 pounds, Ruby McCasland placed seventh in her weight class with a total lift of 535 pounds, Keeli Mainer placed seventh in her weight class with a total lift of 540 pounds and Makenna Hamilton placed sixth in her weight class with a total lift of 650 pounds.

QC Iron will compete again Feb. 9, as they travel to Redwater.
