QC ISD declares Apr. 29 as “Clare Wong Day”

Students from all three campuses lined the roads on Apr. 29, to celebrate Clare Wong as the 2022, 3A State Tennis Champion. Led by the Queen City High School Cheerleaders and the Band of Champions, Clare passed through #thecITy on the back of a firetruck with Sugar and Spike waving to all her supporters as they held up signs of congratulations.

The parade route ended at the doors of Eugene Sloan Memorial Gymnasium, and Clare made her way inside where the QC ISD Board of Trustees presented her with a certificate declaring April 29, “Clare Wong Day”. Clare graciously accepted the honor and praise, but with a spirit of humility, also took her own moment to emotionally thank the people who have supported her along the way. QC ISD is not only proud of Clare and her accomplishments on the court but also the character she has shown along the way.
