McLeod tops Linden-Kildare

McLeod’s basketball program faced county and district foe Linden-Kildare in basketball action on Jan. 24.

The boys won 69-19 and the ladies won 59-16.

Longhorns

McLeod had a 24-9 coming out of the first quarter of play and had a 44-11 lead at the break. A 25-8 run in the second half finished off the route.

Brennan Penny led the way for the ’Horns with 15 points, five boards, five steals and seven assists, Kannon Dempsey had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, Grayson Owens poured in 10 points, Henry Teer seven, Parker Patrick six, Austin McGray six, Jaxon Smith four, Trenton McKnight four and Jay Greene three.

Lady Longhorns

McLeod had a 19-4 lead after one and had a 28-6 lead at the half. A 31-10 run in the second half completed the route.

Kenslee Cross scorched the nets for 22 points, Chassie Gryder added 17, Jaci Armstrong had 10, Reagan Mitchell six and Reagan Johnson four.

In the JV game McLeod won 23-4 behind Lila McKnight’s 10 points.
