McLeod Longhorns dominate All-District selections after historic season

McLeod’s boys’ basketball team received many accolades and awards this year after its historic run which netted them a 12-0 district record, a 35-3 overall record and district, bi-district, area, regional quarterfinal and regional semi-final crowns.

This is also a year in which Head Coach and McLeod alum Steven Lambeth notched his 300th win and led the Longhorns to the Elite 8 in the Texas UIL State playoffs.

As much as this is an unforgettable year with many school records broken the awards keep coming.

The 15-2A All-District list was released recently and the Longhorns took home some top honors.

Coach Lambeth was named Coach of the Year and both Keldyn Schubert and Trevor Deel were named Co-MVPs.

Kobe Bonner and Casey Smith notched First team honors, Austin Gilmore and Nos Gryder earned Second Team honors and Honorable Mention honors went to Nathan Parker, Tyler Williams and Silas Murdock.

Academic All-District accolades went to Schubert, Smith, Murdock, Williams, Deel, Parker and Bonner.
