Atlanta

The Atlanta Rabbits hosted rival Liberty-Eylau Dec. 17, and came away with a solid, 80-61, decision.

Hunter Allen posted 41 points with seven treys and 10 rebounds, Daimion Collins added 22 points with 14 boards, seven blocks and seven assists, Kamron Dickerson had nine points and J.J. Fields six.

Dec. 20, the Rabbits hosted Avinger. The first two quarters took off slow as the Rabbs held just a single-digit lead at the half.

Atlanta opened it up in the second half as they cruised to a, 73-52, victory.

Daimion Collins had 19 points, Caleb Hamilton 11, Alex Boston 11, Hunter Allen eight, J.J. Fields eight and Cameron Dickerson six.

McLeod

McLeod traveled to Jefferson Dec. 17, to take on a good Bulldogs’ team.

The Longhorns fell behind, 15-11, after one quarter of play and found themselves in a, 31-18, hole at halftime.

A, 36-21, run in the second half allowed the ’Horns (13-1) to grab a close, 54-52, win.

Trevor Deel had 29 points and 15 boards, Keldyn Schubert added 10 points with seven rebounds and 16 assists, Kobe Bonner had seven points and Casey Smith had six.

The JV team also played a close game to the Bulldogs but came up just short by a score of, 45-41. Mason Teer had a team-high 23 points.

Dec. 20, the Lady Longhorns visited Linden-Kildare and left with a, 53-17, win. The Lady Tigers lost two very special players in a car accident recently and have been playing for more than the normal blue and white pride. McLeod’s Kaitlyn Cross posted a game-high 14 points and Sibbie Comer added 11.

Union Grove

Tournament

On day one of the Union Grove Tournament Dec. 19, the Longhorns faced off against Waskom.

McLeod posted a, 38-17, halftime lead and never looked back as they won the contest, 68-30.

Trevor Deel had been a force to reckon with all season and didn’t disappoint in this game as he racked up 37 points with 14 boards, Keldyn Schubert, Casey Smith and Kobe Bonner each had six points apiece and Silas Murdock added five points of his own.

McLeod also topped Troup, 70-46, with Bonner going off for 17 points, Schubert and Deel added 14 apiece and Smith posted nine.

On day two, Dec. 20, the Longhorns crushed Hooks, 70-39. McLeod (16-1) scored one less point in the first half than the Hornets would the entire game as they had a, 38-18, lead at the break.

Trevor Deel posted 29 points and 15 rebounds, Tyler Williams added 11 points, Kobe Bonner had nine points, Keldyn Schubert and Casey Smith recorded six points each and Silas Murdock had five.

M.U.M.S.

Last week the M.U.M.S. Lady Bulldogs’ basketball teams battled DeKalb.

The seventh grade team won, 20-16, with Laterika Jackson leading the way with 12 points.

The eighth grade team won as well by a score of, 33-14, with Lauren Carrell posting nine points.
