McLeod Boys

The Longhorns traveled to Queen City to take on the Bulldogs. McLeod (7-0) had a, 49-16, lead at the half and cruised to a, 77-24, win. Trevor Deel had 18 points with 10 rebounds, Keldyn Schubert had 17 points with 11 assists, Kobe Bonner had 16 points with 10 boards and Silas Murdock added 14 points. Dylan Scott led QC with 15 points and T’Angelo Neal had three.

McLeod at QC

The Lady Longhorns battled Queen City Dec. 3, in a Cass County showdown. McLeod jumped out to a, 14-5, lead but the Lady Bulldogs went on a, 17-6, run in the second quarter to take a, 22-20, lead at the break. A, 30-21, turn in the second half propelled McLeod to a, 50-43, victory. Sibbie Comer posted 21 points, Cary May and Gracie Lance both had nine points and Kaitlyn Cross added seven. Nyla Harrison had 15 points for Queen City, Hannah Fitts added nine and Erica Jones had six points.

Atlanta Girls

The Lady Rabbs hosted Jefferson Dec. 3, in a battle of maroon and white teams. Jefferson had a, 13-9, lead going into the second quarter but an, 16-11, run by Atlanta in the second half gave the Lady Rabbits a, 25-24, halftime lead. Atlanta edged Jefferson, 28-23, in the second half to seal a, 53-47, victory.

Atlanta Boys

Nov. 16, Atlanta played Hallsville and fell, 62-55. Daimion Collins posted 26 points, Alex Boston 13 and Kameron Dickerson 11. Nov. 26, the Rabbs lost to Pittsburg, 80-68, with Collins scoring 35 points securing 14 rebounds and adding seven blocks. J.J. Fields posted 13 points, Dickerson 11 and Hunter Allen nine. Dec. 3, the Rabbits took on Texas High at home. Atlanta battled the Tigers tough but eventually fell, 62-50. Collins had 23 points, Allen 10 and Fields six. Dec. 5-7, the Rabbits competed in the Hughes Springs Tournament. On day one the Rabbs topped Winnsboro, 61-47, with Collins scoring 13 points, Caleb Hamilton and Allen 11 apiece, Dickerson and Fields eight each and Boston seven. In the second game of the day Atlanta beat host Hughes Springs, 84-28. Collins and Dickerson posted 18 points apiece, Boston had 15, Allen 14, Fields nine, Terunte Neal seven, Hamilton three and Jacob Lee two. On day two of the tournament Atlanta torched Hawkins, 73-38, and Avinger, 52-26. In the Hawkins game Collins scored 19, Boston nailed six treys for his 18, Allen had 17, Fields added nine and Dickerson had six. Against Avinger Collins had 24 points, Hamilton 13, Allen eight and Boston seven. On day three the Rabbs matched up with Cass County foe Linden-Kildare. Atlanta won, 78-54, with Boston scoring 25 with seven three pointers, Collins adding 19, Allen 13, Dickerson six, Fields five, Neal four, Hamilton three and Jordan Richardson three.

Lady Longhorns tourney

On day one of the Lady Longhorns basketball tournament McLeod topped Queen City, 49-36, with Grace Lance posting 17 points and Sibbie Comer 13. Hannah Fitts led QC with eight points and Cierra Brady added seven. McLeod also edged New Diana, 32-29, with Kaitlyn Cross pouring in 13 points and Cary May nine. Queen City picked up a win over Avinger by a score of, 40-25. Fitts gave the Lady Indians fits as she accounted for 18 points. DeKalb defeated New Diana, 32-17, Hooks beat Avinger, 39-21, and Waskom topped DeKalb, 32-25. Day two of the tournament McLeod beat Waskom, 39-29, with Gracie Lance recording 14 points and Sibbie Comer nine. DeKalb won, 56-35, over QC with Nyla Harrison posting 10 points and Hannah Fitts nine for the Lady Bulldogs. Hooks beat New Diana, 42-35, and McLeod blazed past Avinger, 42-19, with Sibbie Comer scoring 12 points, Gracie Lance nine and Cassie Cryder eight. On the final day of the tournament McLeod beat DeKalb, 34-20, With both Ella Lambeth and Gracie Lance scoring nine points apiece. The Lady Longhorns also beat Hooks, 44-38, Hooks beat QC, 41-29, Waskom topped New Diana, 34-18, and QC fell to New Diana, 36-27.
