Linden-Kildare

Lady Tigers

On Tuesday Nov. 9, the Linden-Kildare Lady Tigers took the court for the first time this season coming up short against Ore City by a score of 27-25.

Madi Bynum poured in three points, Love and Hawkins had two points each, Sydney Hampton had four, Madison Ebarb four, Watson three and Lasonya Nard seven.

Head Coach Glenndell Threatt had this to say after the contest.

“The game was a backwards and forwards battle all night. I saw good moments and areas where we need to improve upon. I am proud of our girls, only having a few hours or practice time,” Coach Threatt said. “Madi Bynum impressed me with her gritty performance, Ebarb and Hampton stepped up in the locker room at halftime, speaking with the younger group about plays, Lasonya Nard was a beast in the paint, with more touches down there we could be something nice.”

“I also thought that our reserves brought a ton of energy to the team with “D-Love” knocking down a trifecta, “Allie Kat” hustling efforts and Hawkins “facilitating,” giving our guards a breather,” Coach Threatt continued. “I am sure others will get a chance to contribute in games ahead.”

The Lady Tigers battled Hughes Springs Nov. 16, and host Big Sandy this Friday night, Nov. 19, with tipoff set for 5 p.m.

Tigers

Head Coach Karlton Davis had this to say about the team.

“This scrimmage was only the second day of basketball for the Tigers and they did not let that stop their effort. The boys made a lot of improvements to start our season off in a positive way,” Coach Davis said. “Team Captains Rollie Patterson and Jonathan Owen led our young team the right way with positive efforts and attitudes. We look forward to a great season and cannot wait to get back to work.”

The Tigers’ first game will be Friday Nov. 19, at DeKalb and the first home game will be Saturday Nov. 20, vs. New Boston with tipoff set for noon.
