The McLeod Longhorns won third place in a tournament at Union Grove Dec. 1.
The Longhorns defeated Frankston by the score of 35-33. Blake Williams led McLeod with 12 points and Dagan Keener added nine.
In the second game McLeod was edged out by Union Grove in the second game of the tournament.
The Longhorns led by one at halftime but were outscored by eight in the third quarter and eventually fell by three points.
Trevor Deel led McLeod in scoring with 10 points and Prince added nine.
The third game was an easy victory over New Diana as the Longhorns cruised to a 50-10 victory. Deel led with 17 points and Zach Prince added 12.
In the third place game McLeod defeated Beckville 64-50. Williams led all scorers with 20 points and Prince and Deel added 13 each.
The Atlanta Lady Rabbs defeated Henderson last week. Atlanta used a stellar third quarter to take a commanding lead and go on to a 52-46 win.
Atlanta was led by Sheveonia Smith with 20 points and Keyona Easter added 19.
The Lady Rabbs JV team defeated Pittsburg and Whitehouse.
Dyamond Grant was leading score in both games with 16 and 13 respectively.
In another game the Lady Rabbs fell to Loyola College Prep by the score of 66-41.
Sheveonia Smith led Atlanta with 15 points and Brittany Collins added 13.
The Atlanta Lady Rabbs defeated Whitehouse in another contest by the score of 61-49.
Brittany Collins led the Lady Rabbs with 17 points, Keyona Easter added 15 and both Kinsey Kelly and Sheveonia Smith poured in 10 points each.
Queen City’s varsity boys topped Elysian Fields, 49-35, last week.
Queen City turned up the heat with a 17-point second quarter, increasing their lead to, 28-23, by halftime.
Austin Lowe scored 13 points to lead the Bulldogs, Tyler Nolen sank two three-pointers and scored nine points total with 10 boards.
Easton Fincher and Alex Carver scores seven points each Dylan Scott added five.
Queen City finished the game with 45 rebounds (20 offensive / 25 defensive) and six steals.
The Lady Bulldogs hosted Elysian Fields Nov. 28, and came out with a, 58-38, win over the Lady Yellowjackets.
QC was up, 36-18, at the break due to hot shooting from Jacie Lance and Jessica Jones who both finished with 24 points. Jones also led with 12 boards and CeCe Walker added 10.
Nov. 30, the Lady Bulldogs fell to Grapeland, 70-61, in OT during tournament play in Mt. Pleasant.
The turning point for the Sandies was outscoring QC 20-7 in the third frame.
Jessica Jones put up 29 points, Jacie Lance added 13 and Madison Jones poured in eight.
Madison Jones grabbed 11 boards, Tiera Johnson pulled down 10 rebounds and lance added eight.
Later that day QC took its second loss of the season with a, 67-49, loss to Tatum.
Jacie Lance scored 31 points and Jessica Jones added 11.
Before the tourney concluded QC beat Pleasant Grove, 63-47, which was the second time this season the Lady Bulldogs beat the Lady Hawks.
