Linden-Kildare, McLeod compete at Area track meet on Apr. 19

Linden-Kildare and McLeod track members participated in the 21-2A and 22-2A Area Track Meet at Union Grove on Apr. 19.

Linden-Kildare Varsity Boys

Charlie Kirkland placed sixth in both the 100m dash and the 200m dash with times of 12.38 and 23.45 respectively.

Varsity Girls

In the 200m dash Jamiah Birmingham placed first at 27.25 and Madilyn Bynum placed second at 27.51, in the 300m hurdles Jacee Quaid placed fourth at 53.00, the 4x100m relay team of Ashtin Patterson, Bynum, Jakiah Birmingham and Jamiah Birmingham placed first at 50.57 and the 4x200m relay team of Carley Hays, Bynum, Jakiah Birmingham and Jamiah Birmingham placed first at 1:49.84.

In long jump Jamiah Birmingham placed third at 15 feet, 4 1/2 inches, in triple jump Jamiah Birmingham placed first with a mark of 36 feet, 4 3/4 inches and in shot Kaycee Neville placed sixth at 31 feet, 5 inches.

Both relay teams were crowned Area champions and advanced to Regionals. Jamiah Birmingham was crowned the Area champ in both triple jump and the 200m dash, and also advanced to Regionals in long jump.

Bynum advanced to Regionals in the 200m dash and Quaid advanced in the 300m hurdles.

McLeod Varsity Boys

In shot Kannon Dempsey placed sixth with a toss of 37 feet, 4 inches and the 4x400m relay team of Braden Patrick, Jackson Smith, Dempsey and Trenton McKnight placed third at 3:46.44.

The relay team qualified for Regionals.

Varsity Girls

In the 400m run Lyla McKnight placed fifth at 1:07.42 and the 4x400m relay team of Chassie Gryder, Jacqulyn Shepard, McKnight and Maddy Blair placed third at 4:36.15.

The relay team qualified for Regionals. The 2A-Region 3 track meet will take place Friday, Apr. 28 and Saturday, Apr. 29, at Palestine High School.
