Lady Rabbs run record to 5-0 with impressive wins

Atlanta’s varsity volleyball team opened the season with a solid 3-set win over Liberty-Eylau by scores of, 25-18, 25-22, 25-12.

The Lady Rabbits followed that up with a 3-set sweep of Jefferson by scores of, 25-11, 25-11, 25-16, and a 3-set sweep of rival Linden-Kildare by scores of, 25-15, 25-15, 25-18.

Atlanta’s 9-set winning streak ended with a 25-14 loss to Waskom in the first set of their meeting Aug. 21, but the Lady Rabbs won the contest after winning the next three sets, 25-21, 25-18, 25-23.

Sept. 1, Atlanta swept Daingerfield in three sets, 25-13, 25-15, 25-15, and ran its record to 5-0.

Tianna Lawson had three aces, eight kills and four blocks against the Lady Tigers, Callie Dyer posted 10 assists, Jennifer Easter added five kills and Kym Sheppard had three kills.

All-in-all the Lady Rabbits are 15-1 in set victories.
