Lady Rabbs run record to 11-0!!!
vs. DeKalb
On Oct. 19, Atlanta’s volleyball program took on DeKalb.
The varsity match was a slugfest as the both teams came to play.
Atlanta won set one 25-17 but the Lady Bears took the next two sets 25-23, 25-20.
With its back against the wall the Lady Rabbs scraped out a dominant 25-12 victory.
The fifth and final set was a great battle but the Lady Rabbs came out of the fray victorious with a 15-10 win.
Destinee Wells had two points, 10 digs, 11 kills and one block; Kaylon Partain added nine points, 38 digs, two aces, two kills and one assist; Amaya Williams posted three kills, two blocks and four digs; Alley Jefferson published five points, 18 digs and an ace; AnneMarie Hanner had four points, 13 digs and 16 assists; Rylie Pattillo earned 18 points, 14 digs, three aces and 30 assists; Cara Taylor added 16 points, four digs and three aces; Sabriiyah Young had four digs, two kills and two blocks; Kym Sheppard posted 19 kills and six blocks; Kinlee Hamilton had seven kills and four blocks and Keymya Smith had five kills and two blocks.
With the win Atlanta moved to 10-0 in district play.
In the JV game the Lady Rabbs won in two sets, 25-20, 25-17.
Madison McCoy had three points, Toya Hurd three points, Carlajah Adger five points, Ellianna Edwards 10 points and Jaliyah Brown had 13 kills.
vs. Redwater
On Oct. 22, the Lady Rabbs ran its district record to 11-0 with a four-set win over Redwater.
Atlanta won the first set 25-20 and Redwater won the second set by an identical score.
The Lady Rabbs finished off the Lady Dragons with two solid set wins by scores of 25-19, 25-16.
Destinee Wells had eight points, one ace, 14 digs and four kills for Atlanta; Kaylon Partain had 10 points, two aces, 22 digs and four kills; Amaya Williams added four kills and three blocks; Alley Jefferson posted seven points, two aces and 14 digs; AnneMarie Hanner recorded four points, one ace and 15 assists; Rylie Pattillo had nine points, one ace, 14 assists and one kill; Cara Taylor had 10 points and two aces; Sabriiyah Young added four kills and four blocks; Kym Sheppard published seven kills and three blocks; Kinlee Hamilton had four kills and three blocks and JaNeisha Fields added three kills.
