Lady Longhorns win Bi-District crown
The Lady Longhorns added another crown to its trophy case as they topped Como-Pickton, 43-36, in the Bi-District round of the UIL state playoffs.
Fresh off of a district title McLeod staved off a furious advance by the Lady Eagles.
The boxscore for this game was close in each quarter but it was the opening frame that was the biggest difference.
McLeod had a, 9-4, lead after the first quarter and held onto a, 16-11, lead at halftime.
The second half was a boxing match as the two teams traded basket-for-basket nearly.
McLeod outscored Como-Pickton 27-25 in the second half and sealed the game up by seven points.
Stormy Johnson recorded a double-double as she put up 11 points with 10 boards, Kenslee Cross added 11 points with six rebounds and five steals, Regan Johnson posted eight points and four assists, Rielyn Schubert had seven points, Chassie Gryder had four and Ella Lambeth two.
