Lady Bulldogs’ historic playoff run ends
Queen City’s softball team has been on a historic run.
After a district championship the Lady Bulldogs earned a Bi-District title and followed that up with an Area championship.
This past weekend the Lady Bulldogs came up short against a tough Mt. Vernon team.
Mt. Vernon won game one, 9-1 but QC took game two, 4-1 in fine fashion. Unfortunately Mt. Vernon won game three, 11-3.
The season was one to remember and surely will never be forgotten.
Game One
Serenity Oden hit a solo homerun and both Brenna Turbeville and Kelsey Nash hit singles in the contest.
Game Two
QC bounced back from a game one loss and won the second meeting.
Erica Lavoie put the Lady Bulldogs on the board with a solo shot in the third inning and also hit a single in the game, and teammate Trinity Oden put the game away with a go-ahead, 3-run homer in the sixth frame.
Oden was superb from the circle as she scattered five hits over seven innings with five strikeouts.
Brenna Turbeville added two singles, Serenity Oden hit a single and Kelsey Nash hit a single.
Game Three
Brenna Turbeville hit a solo homerun and also added a single, Lauren Carrell hit two singles and had a RBI, Jacey Cauthorn hit a single and both Serenity Oden and Trinity Oden hit singles.
