L-K Iron competes at FCA Liftoff
Linden-Kildare’s powerlifting program competed in the FCA Liftoff at Texas High on Jan. 21. The meet consisted of 300-plus lifters from classes 1A-6A.
Michael Lane competed in the 132-pound class and placed first in his weight class with a total lift of 885 pounds. Charlie Kirkland competed in the 165-pound weight class and set a new PR in squat with a 400-pound lift. He finished in ninth place with a total of 955 pounds.
David Pena lifted in the 181-pound weight class and learned some very valuable experience. He finished in the top 15 with a total of 890 pounds. Ta’Shun Mitchell is back this year for the program and lifted in the 198-pound class. He finished strong with a seventh-place finish by lifting a total of 1,110 pounds.
For the ladies, none of them had ever been to a meet and didn’t really know what to expect.
Karma Montoya lifted in the 148-pound class and gained valuable experience in the squat and bench, Allie Watson competed in the 181-pound class and set a new PR in bench. She finished in the top 15 with a total lift of 585 pounds. Ashlyn Lee gained valuable experience in the squat and Cadey Stiger was on injured reserve.
