Bulldogs faced tough Daingerfield Tigers’ team
The Queen City Bulldogs were at home last Friday night to take on the Daingerfield Tigers. Queen City looked to rebound from a loss against Elysian Fields in the previous week and Daingerfield looked to build on its success against Ore City. The Bulldogs opened the game on offense and quarterback Dylan Scott quickly completed a 29-yard pass to TiAngelo Neal. Queen City marched downfield to the Daingerfield 34-yard line and were forced to turn the ball over on downs. Daingerfield quickly capitalized on the turnover with its first touchdown of the night on a 13-yard run. The Tigers led 8-0 early in the opening quarter. Later in the quarter, the Bulldogs’ offense fumbled the ball near the Tigers’ 38-yard line and Daingerfield scored another touchdown, this time on a 44-yard pass completion. Following the touchdown, the next Queen City offensive possession resulted in an interception. The Bulldogs quickly recaptured the ball, however, as the Tigers’ first play from scrimmage was picked off by Damir Rascoe. Daingerfield managed to keep the offensive momentum going however, as they scored once more in the quarter to take a 22-0 lead. The Tigers opened the second quarter with another quick score on a nine-yard pass. This touchdown was followed up by a rushing touchdown and Daingerfield held a 36-0 lead at halftime. In the second half, Daingerfield never looked back as the Tigers went on to score four additional touchdowns while keeping the Bulldogs’ offense out of the end zone. The game ended with the final score of Queen City zero and Daingerfield 62. The Bulldogs are on the road this Friday night Oct. 25, to take on Ore City. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Ore City High School.
