Bloomburg FFA attends shootout
Recently, four Bloomburg FFA members attended the San Antonio Livestock Jr. Shootout in San Antonio. They competed against more than 1,000 other shooters from across Texas.
After their first shoot, the scores were entered into the Lewis Class scoring system for further advancement. Jayden Patterson and Luke Porterfield were selected to advance to a shoot off with other students who scored the same as they did, respectively. Luke wasn’t able to advance to the next round due to missed targets, but gave it his best effort.
Jayden placed in the top five which allowed him to advance to the final round. Jayden ended up fourth and received seven cases of shotgun shells and a belt buckle for prizes.
“These young men represented our school very well and we are proud of their accomplishments attained for our first ever entry into this competition,” Instructor Joe Solley said.
