Atlanta 91, DeKalb 49

Atlanta hosted DeKalb Jan. 15, for a district match.

The Rabbs closed out the first quarter with DeKalb keeping it close but by halftime Atlanta was up, 45-29.

Atlanta outscored the Bears 46-20 in the second half to wrap up a, 91-49, victory.

Kentucky commit Daimion Collins sealed a double-double with 39 points and 13 boards, Keyshawn Easter added 12 points, Caleb Hamilton had 11, Alex Boston, Kenyen Washington six and Kameron Dickerson five.

No. 6 McLeod 86, L-K 26

McLeod ran its overall record to 12-4 and Keldyn Schubert recorded his second quadruple-double of the season in the Longhorns’, 86-26, win over Linden-Kildare.

Schubert posted 23 points with 10 steals, 15 assists and 11 rebounds.

Casey Smith added 20 points, Tyler Williams 14, Silas Murdock eight, Nos Gryder five, Nathan Parker four, Gabe Groves four, Mason Teer three and Austin Gilmore three and Ethan Armstrong two.

For the Tigers Mason Johnson led the way with six points, Chris Palmer added five, Chase Bynum posted five, Puff Peters three, Jordan Swanson three and Jonathan Owen three.

McLeod’s JV team rolled over L-K by a score of, 55-18, with Henry Teer scoring 10 and Jase Deaton nine.

No. 6 McLeod 71, Detroit 35

McLeod dominated Detroit, 71-35, Jan. 15, in district play.

The first half was close as the Longhorns had a, 31-24, lead at the half but a 40-11 run in the second half put the game away for McLeod.

Keldyn Schubert put up mortal numbers with 16 points, seven boards and eight assists, Nathan Parker added 13, Silas Murdock 12, Casey Smith 11, Tyler Williams six, Austin Gilmore five, Nos Gryder four, Gabe Groves two and Ethan Armstrong two.

No. 22 McLeod 88, James Bowie 11

The Lady Longhorns crushed James Bowie, 88- 11, Jan. 11, in a makeup game.

McLeod bolted out of the gate and had a, 28-2, lead after the first quarter.

A 20-5 run in the second frame put the lady ’Horns up, 48-7, at the half.

McLeod posted an 18-0 run in the third and a 22-4 run in the fourth to complete the thrashing.

Everyone on the roster scored.

Kaitlyn Cross poured in 21 points, Cary May added 17, Kenslee Cross posted 14, Gracie Lance 13, Ella Lambeth six, Sibbie comer five, Rielyn Schubert four, Regan Johnson three, Stormy Johnson three and Chassie Gryder two.

No. 22 McLeod 70, L-K 13

McLeod posted back-to-back games in which they scored 70 points or more after dispatching Linden-Kildare, 80-13, in district play Jan. 12.

The win solidified the Lady Longhorns’ district record at 8-0.

Gracie lance put up 17 points and grabbed 11 boards, Kaitlyn Cross added 15 points, Ella Lambeth nine, Cary May eight, Rielyn Schubert six, Regan Johnson five, Kenslee Cross four, Sibbie Comer four and Stormy Johnson two.

Queen City 51, Redwater 43

The Queen City Lady Bulldogs claimed a, 51-43, win over Redwater Jan. 12.

Lauren Carrell led the way for QC with 13 points, Jamecia Cook added seven Serenity Oden and Hannah Fitts added five points each, Mallori Stringer, Alex Larry, Erica Lavoie, and Gracie Weeks chipped in four apiece, Nyla Harrison posted three and Chloe Phillippi two.

Queen City 47, New Boston 79

Queen City dropped a district game to the New Boston Lady Lions, 79-47, Jan. 15.

Erica Lavoie led the way with 10 points, Nyla Harrison posted nine, Jamecia Cook had eight, Lauren Carrell, Gracie Weeks and Alex Larry posted five, Mallori Stringer three and Serenity Oden with two.

MUMS

Morris Upchurch Middle School’s girls’ basketball program played New Boston last week.

The seventh grade girls lost, 41-15, with Dori Sasser posting nine points, and the eighth grade team fell, 35-30, with Laterika Jackson pouring in nine points.
