Atlanta

On Jan. 18, the Lady Rabbs beat DeKalb, 49-42.

Alley Jefferson recorded 21 points, Destinee Webster added seven, Carajah Adger posted seven, Kym Sheppard published seven and Sabriiah Young scored four.

The Lady Rabbs thumped Paul Pewitt, 67-31, in a make-up game Jan. 19. Alley Jefferson scored a game-high 26 points, Kym Sheppard added 18, Damiya Alexander posted five, Sabriiah Young four, Carajah Adger four and Destinee Webster three.

Atlanta sealed nine straight wins after topping Redwater, 65-22, Jan. 21. In that contest Alley Jefferson tossed in 22 points, Sabriiah Young added 15, Destinee Webster had 11, Ma’Kaylin King had 10, Damiya Alexander added four and Keymya Smith had two. The win over the Lady Dragons kept Atlanta perfect in district play.

McLeod

On Jan. 18, the Lady Longhorns hosted James Bowie. The Lady Pirates took a, 12-8, lead into the second frame, but an 8-2 run by McLeod gave the Lady ’Horns a, 16-14, edge at halftime. A 17-10 run in the second half by McLeod sealed a, 33-24, win.

Ella Lambeth posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Kenslee Cross added seven points and nine boards, Chassie Gryder had four points, Rielyn Schubert three, Regan Mitchell two and Jaci Armstrong one.

After the Lady Longhorns’ victory, the boys’ team took the floor for an exciting game which went into double overtime.

The Longhorns held onto a slight, 9-8, lead going into the second quarter, and a 16-10 run put my McLeod up, 25-18, at the break.

James Bowie outscored McLeod 24-17 in the second half which forced overtime.

In the first OT session the teams came out locked at 48-all, but a 13-2 run in the second OT secured a, 61-50, win for the Longhorns.

Tyler Williams recorded 22 points, Mason Teer added 13, Braden Parker had eight, Kannon Dempsey posted eight points with 15 rebounds and Henry Teer finished with seven points and nine boards.

In the JV matchup, McLeod edged the Pirates, 39-32, with Lane Johnson putting up 11 points and Parker Patrick scoring 10.

On Jan. 20, the Longhorns fell to Rivercrest, 38-35.

Tyler Williams poured in 13 points, Kannon Dempsey added seven points with 10 boards, Mason Teer posted six points and four rebounds, Henry Teer published six points with six boards and Braden Parker had three points.

The Lady Longhorns also fell to Rivercrest by a score of, 31-25.

Kenslee Cross finished with eight points and 10 boards, Chassie Gryder added eight points, Ella Lambeth had six, Rielyn Schubert had two and Jaci Armstrong one with five rebounds.

On Jan. 21, McLeod edged Linden-Kildare, 37-34.

Kannon Dempsey posted 14 points with eight boards, Tyler Williams poured in nine points, Brennan Penny added five points with four steals, Henry Teer had four points, Mason Teer had three points with five rebounds and Parker Patrick had two points with five boards.

Jonathan Owen had 19 points for the Tigers.

The Lady ’Horns topped L-K, 50-18, on Jan. 21.

Kenslee Cross recorded a triple-double as she poured in 12 points with 10 steals and 13 rebounds, Chassie Gryder posted 13 points, Ella Lambeth scored seven, Rielyn Schubert had seven, Jaci Armstrong added seven, Sarah Ragland had two and Reagan Mitchell scored two.

Madi Bynum scored six for L-K, LaSonya Nard added three, Sydney Hampson had three, Rylee Burns had three and Zaliyah Mitchell had three.

M.U.M.S.

On Jan. 20, the seventh grade Lady Bulldogs defeated Red Lick, 20-10, with Lucy Kelton pouring in 10 points and Abigail Bickham adding four.

The eighth grade team fell just short to the Lady Mustangs in double OT by a score of, 37-34. Dori Sasser posted 11 points and Grace Alexander recorded eight points of her own.

Queen City

On Jan. 18, the Lady Bulldogs traveled to New Boston and left town with a, 46-42, win in tow.

Serenity Oden and Erica Lavoie both scored nine points each for QC.

The JV squad was edged out by New Boston by a score of, 25-22. Brenna Turbeville led QC with 10 points.
