On Dec. 21, the Rabbs beat New Boston 57-49 to kickoff district play.
Alex Boston posted 30 points with six treys, Aidan Boston added seven, Kam Dickerson seven, Kenyen Washington six, Andrew Boston five and Braylyn Rowe two.
On Dec. 21, the Lady Rabbs posted up against New Boston in district play.
Atlanta won the game 54-45 behind Alley Jefferson’s 20-point outburst. Destinee Webster added 14, Kym Sheppard 12, Ma’Kaylin King four, Sabriiyah Young two and Damiya Alexander two.
In the contest before Atlanta topped Redwater 68-49 on Dec. 17.
On Dec. 27, the Lady Rabbs took part in the Hallsville Tournament and crushed both of its opponents on day one.
In the first contest Atlanta topped Longview 55- 37 with Kym Sheppard pouring in 12 points, Alley Jefferson nine, Carlajah Adger nine, Ma’Kaylin King eight, Destinee Webster six, Keynya Smith four,
Sabriiyah Young four and Aysia Heard two. In the second game the Lady Rabbs crushed Elysian Fields 51-7 with Alley Jefferson recording 17 points, Ma’Kaylin King 14, Carlajah Adger seven, Kym Sheppard six, Destinee Webster two, Sabriiyah Young two, Aysia Heard two and Damiya Alexander one.
McLeod On Dec. 17, the Lady Longhorns battled James Bowie.
As close as the game would get was when the score was knotted at 0-0 as McLeod rolled to a 63-17 win.
After taking a 17-8 lead into the second frame, the Lady ’Horns outscored the Lady Pirates 22-2 and went up 39-10 at the break.
A 24-7 run for McLeod in the second half sealed the deal for sure.
Regan Johnson outscored James Bowie by herself as she recorded 20 points with three assists, Ella Lambeth added a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards, Chassie Gryder had nine points and there steals, Stormy Johnson posted eight points and nine rebounds, Kenslee Cross poured in six points with four boards, Rielyn Schubert had three points with four assists, Jaci Armstrong had two points with three rebounds and Sarah Ragland added a point.
On Dec. 21, the Lady Longhorns topped Linden-Kildare.
Ella Lambeth had 17 points with seven rebounds, Rielyn Schubert posted 11 points, Regan Johnson added eight points, Kenslee Cross had six, Stormy Johnson five, Jaci Armstrong four, Chassie Gryder four, Sarah Ragland three and Reagan Mitchell two. Andrea Bertrand contributed two steals in the win for McLeod.
For L-K LaSonya Nard had nine points, Madi Bynum three, Madi Ebarb two and Rylee Burns two.
Queen City
On Dec. 14, the Queen City Lady Bulldogs kicked off district play against New Boston.
The varsity tilt was a barnburner but QC came up just short as New Boston won 53-52.
Lauren Carrell, Trinity Oden and Alex Larry each scored eight points
The JV score was close as well with New Boston winning 30-26. Laterika Jackson posted 16 points for QC.
On Dec. 11, the Morris Upchurch Middle School Lady Bulldogs hosted a tournament with Paul Pewitt and Hooks attending.
The seventh grade team lost to both Hooks and Paul Pewitt. Breana McConnell posted three points versus Hooks, and against Pewitt Lucy Kelton scored seven points and McConnell scored four.
The eighth grade team split with a close 22-17 loss to Hooks and a 35-4 thumping of Pewitt.
In the Hooks game Kerian Thomas led the way with seven points, and in the Pewitt matchup Dori Sasser recorded 16 points, Thomas seven and Amyia Young six.
The Morris Upchurch Middle School Lady Bulldogs made the short trip over to Atlanta for a battle with the Lady Rabbits on Dec. 13.
The seventh grade team lost 23-9. Breana Mc-Connell and Lucy Kelton each had three points for QC, Bailee Black chipped in two and J. Beltran posted 10 points for Atlanta.
The eighth grade team edged the Lady Rabbs 26-22 with Dori Sasser putting up nine points, Kerian Thomas six and Aubrey Patillo four.
On Dec. 21, the Queen City Lady Bulldogs played Hooks in a district match.
The varsity team fell just short by a score of 63- 61. Nyla Harrison posted 13 points, Alex Larry added 12 and Lauren Carrell recorded 11.
In the JV match Hooks won 33-25 with Laterica Jackson pouring in 10 points for the Lady Bulldogs.
