Atlanta’s varsity boys’ basketball team posted a 54-43 win over Daingerfield in November.

Kameron Dickerson led the way with 14 points, Alex Boston added 13 points, Aidan Boston had 11, Stacy Darty eight, Braylyn Rowe five and Andrew Boston three.

The Rabbs also topped Ore City, 56-42, with Alex Boston scoring 18, Kameron Dickerson nine, Aidan Boston nine, Braylyn Rowe eight, Andrew Boston six, Stacy Darty four and Caleb King two.

On Nov. 22, the Rabbits edged Quitman, 63-61, with Alex Boston going off for 38 points, Stacy Darty added 12, Braylyn Rowe four, Kam Dickerson three, Andrew Boston three and Caleb King two.

The Rabbs met up with Jefferson on Nov. 23, and suffered a 59-47 loss.

Kameron Dickerson put up 17 points, Aidan Boston 10, Andrew Boston seven, Prayduz Thomas five, Braylyn Rowe five and Stacy Darty three.

The Rabbs competed in the Hughes Springs Tournament Dec. 2-4.

New Boston tripped up the Rabbits 50-47 in game one of tournament play. Alex Boston led the way with 19 points, Andrew Boston added six, Aidan Boston had six, Stacy Darty posted six, Kam Dickerson had four, Braylyn Rowe had four and Caleb King had two.

In the next contest, Atlanta edged Hawkins 59-57 with both Alex Boston and Aidan Boston going off for 20 apiece. Kam Dickerson added seven points, Stacy Darty had five, Braylyn Rowe three and Andrew Boston three.

In the final game, Atlanta topped Hooks 46-36 with Alex Boston pouring in 24 points, Kam Dickerson 10, Braylyn Rowe eight, Aidan Boston two and Stacy Darty two.

McLeod

On Nov. 29, McLeod’s junior high boys’ team topped Linden-Kildare, 47-29, with Jon Austin scoring 24 points, Kason Cook 10 and Colten Spence seven.

On Nov. 30, the McLeod Longhorns beat Queen City 47-31.

Braden Parker poured in 12 points, Henry Teer 11, Tyler Williams nine and Kannon Dempsey eight for the ’Horns, and for QC Clayton Whittenberg scored 10 points.

On Dec. 2, the Lady Longhorns kicked off the McLeod Tournament with a 37-33 win over Saltillo.

Saltillo had a 15-12 edge at halftime but the Lady ’Horns outscored the Lady Lions 25-18 in the second half to seal the victory.

Ella Lambeth put up 12 points with six boards, Chassie Gryder added 10 points, Rielyn Schubert had eight points with five rebounds, Stormy Johnson grabbed seven rebounds and both Kenslee Cross and Reagan Johnson posted six boards apiece.

In game two, the Lady Longhorns dispatched Hooks 51-37.

The score was tied at 12-all after the first quarter but McLeod went on a 19-6 run in the second quarter which gave them a 31-18 lead at halftime.

Ella Lambeth went off for 19 points and seven rebounds, Kenslee Cross had 15 points and seven boards, Rielyn Schubert added seven points and Chassie Gryder had six.

Aside from McLeod’s two wins, Bloomburg bested Redwater 54-27 and Alba-Golden 49-16, Hooks beat Jefferson 48-40, Redwater defeated Union Grove 35-25, Saltillo topped Jefferson 57-47 and Union Grove beat Alba-Golden 46-33.

On day two of the tourney, Dec. 3, the Lady Longhorns beat Alba-Golden 41-29.

Kenslee Cross earned a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, Ella Lambeth chipped in 11 points with six boards, Stormy Johnson added eight points, Chassie Gryder six points, Jaci Armstrong three and Regan Johnson two.

In game two, McLeod bested Jefferson 53-47. Chassie Gryder went off for 17 points, Ella Lambeth added 16 with seven rebounds, Stormy Johnson had nine points with 10 boards, Rielyn Schubert had six points and Kenslee Cross had five.

On day three of the tourney, Dec. 4, the Lady Longhorns split with a 41-26 loss to Saltillo and beat rival Bloomburg 50-44.

McLeod finished third overall and Ella Lambeth earned All-Tournament honors.

In the loss to Saltillo Lambeth scored 10 points and pulled down eight rebounds, Rielyn Schubert and Chassie Gryder each had four points, Stormy Johnson had three points and six rebounds, Kenslee Cross added two points with eight boards, Jaci Armstrong had two points with three rebounds and Regan Johnson had five boards and three assists.

Against Bloomburg, McLeod avenged an earlier season loss to the Lady Wildcats with a 6-point win.

Chassie Gryder poured in 13 points, Kenslee Cross added a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards, Rielyn Schubert had eight points, Ella Lambeth seven with nine rebounds, Regan Johnson posted five points with seven assists and Stormy Johnson had six points with six rebounds.

For the Lady ’Cats, Kenzie LaDuke recorded 13 points, Haylee Breedlove 12, Kaleigh Glasgow 11, Cassie Glasgow four, Carley Castagnetta two and Katlen McKinnie two.

On Dec. 6, McLeod’s junior high boys’ team beat James Bowie 38-16.

Kason Cook led the way with 11 points, Colten Spence added seven, Dickerson had seven, Nelms six, Austin four and Greene one.

Queen City

On Nov. 29, the M.U.M.S. Lady Bulldogs faced off against Redwater.

The seventh grade A team lost although Bailee Black led the Lady Bulldogs with three points and Lucy Kelton scored two.

The seventh grade B team won with Ava Norton and Lucy Kelton each scoring two points apiece.

The eighth grade team won, 35-7, with Dori Sasser scoring 12, Kerian Thomas 11 and Makayla Jackson six.

On Nov. 30, the Queen City Lady Bulldogs beat county foe McLeod 47-26.

Lauren Carrell, Serenity Oden and Alex Larry all scored 10 points apiece for the Lady Bulldogs, and Reagan Johnson scored eight points, Ella Lambeth six and Rielyn Schubert five for the Lady Longhorns.

The Queen City Lady Bulldogs competed in White Oak last week.

On Dec. 2, the Lady Bulldogs lost to Hawkins 56-31. Jamecia Cook posted 11 points for QC.

On Dec. 3, Queen City beat the Texas Heat 42-31 with Jamecia Cook recording nine points, and on Dec. 4, the Lady Bulldogs beat Quitman 47-37 with Jamecia Cook scoring 10 points and Serenity Oden eight.
