Atlanta vs. Queen City

Atlanta took on longtime and district rival Queen City on Mar. 5.

The game was tied 4-4 going into the sixth inning, but the Bulldogs scored two runs in the final two frames to pull out the 6-4 win.

Will Woodruff and Eli Stevens combined for 10 strikeouts (five each). From the dish Woodruff hit an RBI single, Jaden Riley added two RBIs, Peyton Gaston added an RBI and Corban Farmer added a single.

For the Bulldogs, Clint Wiley gave up just two hits and fanned six over three innings. Tyson Blaylock struck out two and gave up no hits over three innings of work and Rylee Green put in an inning of work.

Mason Stringer hit a single, Kaden Satterfield was 2-for-4 with a double, Lathan Chamblee added an RBI, Brayden Wiley added an RBI, Gunner Loftin was 2-for-3 with two ribbies and Cayden Dawson added a single.

Lady Rabbs vs. Lady Bulldogs

Rivals hit a collision course on Mar. 5, as the Lady Rabbs hosted Queen City in a district battle.

QC scored early and often as the Lady Bulldogs blanked the Lady Rabbits 10-0 in five innings.

Gabby Petrofsky and Anna Davis hit singles for Atlanta.

For the Lady Bulldogs, Trinity Oden gave up just two hits and struck out nine. Brenna Turbeville hit a double, a 3-run homer and drove in three runs, Keeli Mainer hit a double, a 2-run homer and posted two RBIs, Paitynn Weeks was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, Serenity Oden hit a single, Trinity Oden added two RBIs, Mallori Stringer brought in a run, Lauren Carrell added a single and Kelsey Nash hit an RBI single.

Lady Tigers vs. Lady Wildcats

On Feb. 5, county rivals Linden-Kildare and Bloomburg met for a contest.

The Lady Tigers scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back en route to a 16-0 win.

Zaliyah Mitchell gave up two hits and sat down seven batters in four innings.

Allie Watson was 4-for-4 with a 2-run homer and two RBIs, Hannah Wall a 2-run homer and posted three RBIs, Olivia Stewart hit a triple and brought in two runs, Kaycee Neville was 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, All-Jo Dixon was 2-for-3 with a double, and two ribeyes Mitchell hit an RBI double and Lynlee LeJeune was 3-for-3 with two ribbies.

For the Lady Wildcats, Jaysi Pond and Lexi both hit singles.

Lady Tigers at Harts Bluff

Linden-Kildare’s softball team played a makeup game against Harts Bluff on Mar. 11, after rain soaked the area last Friday.

L-K scored six runs in the first two innings of the contest but Harts Bluff put up five runs in the third to pull within one run.

L-K went on to score 19 runs over the next two frames to win 25-5. The Lady Tigers went all Hank Aaron from the dish as three players combined for four homeruns.

Hannah Wall and Allie Watson had back-to back solo shots in the fourth, and Kaycee Neville hit a solo shot and a 3-run shot all in that big, 12-run fifth inning for the Lady Tigers.

Ada Whatley rang up four batters, Zaliyah Mitchell sat down three and Callie Johnson struck out one.

Wall was a single short of the cycle as she went 3-for-3 with a homerun, a double, a triple and four RBIs, Watson was 2-for-5 with a homer and two ribbies, Neville was 3-for-3 with two homeruns, a double and four RBIs, All-Jo Dixon hit four doubles and brought in three runs, Karma Montoya was 2-for-2 with a double and three ribeyes, Olivia Stewart hit a couple of singles, Sophia Hampton hit a single and lacy Johnson was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Rabbits

Atlanta’s baseball team hosted part of the Atlanta/Winnsboro tourney Mar. 7-9. The Rabbs went 3-1 in tourney play after defeating Jefferson, Hughes Springs and Mt. Pleasant Chapel Hill. Atlanta lost to Daingerfield 5-0.

Vs. Jefferson

The Rabbs were up 4-3 going into the sixth frame where they exploded for five runs and beat Jefferson 9-3.

Eli Dryden gave up just four hits and struck out four over six innings of work. Easton Whatley pitched an inning of relief.

From the plate, Will Woodruff hit a double, Peyton Harrison hit an RBI single, Cason Whatley was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, Eli Mitchell hit an RBI single and Chris Hale hit a single.

Vs. Hughes Springs

The Rabbs took advantage of a hit batter and two intentional walks in the bottom of the seventh inning and beat Hughes Springs 3-2.

Eli Stevens pitched a complete game with three hits given up and three Ks.

Will Woodruff was 2-for-4 with a double, Peyton Harrison hit a single, Jaden Riley posted an RBI, Eli Mitchell was 2-for-4 with a triple and Evan Mitchell hit a single.

Vs. Mt. Pleasant Chapel Hill

Atlanta broke a 1-1 tie by scoring nine runs over three innings en route to a 10-3 win over Mt. Pleasant Chapel Hill.

Easton Whately gave up just two hits over five innings with four strikeouts and both Evan Mitchell and Peyton Gaston pitched in relief.

Eli Mitchell hit a 2-run homer, Peyton Harrison was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Brady Partain hit an RBI double, Will Woodruff hit a single, Jaden Riley hit a single, Gaston recorded an RBI, Easton Owens was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Michael Dubuisson hit an RBI single.
