Atlanta wins Bi-District tilt

Atlanta’s volleyball team had a sensational year as the Lady Rabbs finished second in district play and rumbled into the playoffs.

In the Bi-District round the Lady Rabbs battled Mineola. This contest was a slugfest as the Lady Rabbs prevailed by scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 26-24.

Jaliyah brown had 11 points, Ziza Garcia six, Anne Marie Hanner six and Ma’Kaylin King five. Kym Sheppard added 10 kills, Brown had eight and King seven.

In the Area round the Lady Rabbits met up with undefeated district champion White Oak.

The Lady Roughnecks were a tough out as they took a 2-0 lead by scores of 25-20 and 25-18. With their backs against the wall Atlanta came out swinging and took set three 25-22. White Oak closed the door in the fourth set with a 25-21 win. Kym Sheppard had 14 kills and five blocks, Ma’Kaylin King added 10 kills and three blocks, AnneMarie Hanner had nine points, Ziza Garcia seven and Jaliyah Brown six.
