Atlanta Volleyball

Atlanta battled DeKalb on Sept. 20 and won in four sets. The Lady Rabbs made the contest interesting.

After blowing the Lady Bears out in the first set DeKalb won the second set by two points. From that point the Lady Rabbs dominated the next two sets to win the match. The scores were, 25-11, 2628, 25-13 and 25-18.

Carlajah Adger had 13 digs, Kaylon Partain added 37 digs, six kills and two aces, Ziza Garcia posted 11 digs, Maya Young had eight kills, Sabriiyah Young added six kills, Annemarie Hanner recorded 13 assists and Rylie Pattillo had 18 assists and one ace.

The JV White team won in three sets but the JV Maroon team lost in three sets.

On Sept. 23, Atlanta was in celebration mode for Homecoming and played against rival Queen City in the process.

The Lady Rabbs won in three sets by scores of 2520, 25-21, 25-15 and are now 4-0 in district play. “With us having three girls on Homecoming court I was afraid we’d be too excited, we were, but we knew we had to play the game,” Coach Maxwell said.

Carlajah Adger had seven digs, two kills and two aces, Kaylon Partain added 26 digs, nine kills and two aces, Amaya Young put up eight kills, Kym Sheppard posted eight kills and four blocks, Rylie Pattillo had 18 assists and Annemarie Hanner recorded 14 assists.
