Atlanta Rabbits fall to Brook Hill
Still finding themselves in a rough patch, Atlanta lost for the third time in a row, this time to Brook Hill.
With Atlanta unable to score any more than three touchdowns in the whole game, Brook Hill managed to win the game with a 10-point lead, the final score being 28-18, leaving Atlanta with a season record of 2 – 3.
First Quarter
Brook Hill won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. The first quarter was a strong start for both teams, with a low point difference between the two by the quarter’s end.
Scoring the first points of the game with a field goal, Brook Hill followed this with a touchdown and an extra point, leaving the score at 10-0 before Atlanta got their first touchdown. With just a little over a minute left in the first quarter, Atlanta began closing the gap with a 75-yard run touchdown by Markeylin Batton, bringing the score to 10-6 after the point after was no good.
Second Quarter
The second quarter was close with Brook Hill failing to score any points as Atlanta gained a lead that would prove to be short-lived.
Quarterback Peyton Harrison made a 60-yard pass to Braylyn Rowe for another touchdown, bringing the score to 12-10, with Atlanta missing the 2-point conversion.
Third Quarter
Coming back from halftime, Brook Hill wasted no time taking the lead back with a touchdown followed by a successful 2-point conversion which brought the score to 18-12. After an unsuccessful push by Atlanta, Brook Hill was able to gain another three points from a 43-yard field goal, bringing the score to 21-12.
After this, Batton scored a 70-yard run touchdown that narrowed the gap with a score of 21-18. Unfortunately for Atlanta, with a missed extra point, this would be their last score of the night.
Fourth Quarter
Cleaning up the second half, Brook Hill brought the game to its final score of 28-18 with a touchdown followed by an extra point.
With an open week next week, the Rabbits will resume play with a home game against Sabine on October 6 at 7:30 p.m.
