Atlanta cross country earns three district titles
The Atlanta High School cross country program ran away with three district championships on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at DeKalb High School.
The varsity boys’ team won first place with seven runners finishing in the top 10. The varsity girls’ team took first place with five runners among the top 10 finishers, and the JV boys’ team swept the top 10, earning them a first place championship.
Winning gold medals were junior Chris Swanson, freshman Lucy Ransom and junior Victor Manrique.
Full results are as follows: Varsity Boys Team Result - First Place District Champions: first place - Chris Swanson, second place - Matthew Morin, third place - Will Davis, fourth place - Landon Moore, seventh place - Eli Riojas, eighth place - Ethan Scott and 10th place Andrew Allen.
Varsity Girls Team Result - First Place District Champions: first place - Lucy Ransom, second place - Aurelia Giesler, fifth place - Amelia Jones, sixth place- Emma Allen, eighth place - Ella Stewart, 15th place - Addie Giesler and 16th place- Markavia Garner.
JV Boys Team Result - First Place District Champions: first place - Victor Manrique, second place-Owen Flint, third place- Campbell Autrey, fourth place- Derrick Talton, fifth place - Grant Allen, sixth place - Ayush Patel, seventh place - Jacob Rubio, eighth place - Caleb Ptuberville, ninth place Nate Byrd and 10th place - Manuel Olvera.
JV Girls Results: fourth place- Ryleigh Thompson and eighth place - Lizbeth Hernandez.
