Atlanta’s boys’ track team dominates Redwater relays

Queen City’s girls’ track team places second overall

Atlanta, Queen City and McLeod competed in the Joe Culpepper Relays hosted by Redwater ISD Mar. 18.

Atlanta’s boys’ team dominated the meet for the varsity boys by racking up 229.5 points, and Queen City’s girls’ team placed second overall in its division.

Varsity Boys

The Runnin’ Rabbs torched the competition after earning 229.5 points.

Host Redwater was second with 82 points, Queen City was third with 60, Paul Pewitt fourth with 48, New Boston had 46.5, McLeod 43, Hughes Springs 39, Hooks 36, DeKalb 34 and James Bowie 2.

Atlanta

In the 100 M Dash La’Randion Dowden placed first at 11.25; in the 200 M Dash Matthew Cauley placed first at 23.27, Zakyus Jackson fourth at 23.97 and Austin Young fifth at 24.00;and in the 400 M Dash

Xzavian Johnson placed first at 54.24.

In the 800 M Run Jaquan Robinson finished second at 2:10.24 and Matthew Cauley third at 2:11.25; in the 1600 M Run Caden Fincher placed fourth at 5:13.69; in the 3200 M Run Caden Fincher placed first at 11:00.13 and Noah Dowda second at 11:17.38; in the 110 M Hurdles Kameron George, Stacy Darty and Zachariah Jefferson placed 1-2-3 with times of 16.58, 17.03 and 17.35 respectively and in the 300 M Hurdles Kameron George placed second at 43.66, Stacy Darty third at 44.59 and Lakecion Matthews fifth at 46.10.

The Rabbs set fire to the track in the relays.

The 4x100 M Relay team of Zakyus Jackson, Caleb Hamilton, La’Randion Dowden and Kameron Dickerson placed first at 44.33; the 4x200 M Relay of Zakyus Jackson, Austin Young, La’Randion Dowden and Kameron Dickerson placed second at 1:34.41 and the 4x400 M Relay team of

Isaiah Chandler, Noah Harris, Matthew Cauley and Xzavian Johnson placed first at 3:38.00.

Trey Adams placed first in Shot Put with a toss of 44 feet, 2 inches and teammate Tyrell King placed third with a heave of 44 feet, 1 1/2 inches; in the Triple Jump Keyshawn Easter placed first with a mark of 42 feet, 10 1/4 inches and Stacy Darty placed second with a leap of 40 feet, 7 inches; in the High Jump

Daimion Collins placed first at 6 feet, 6 inches and Keyshawn Easter placed third at 5 feet, 10 inches and in Pole Vault Hunter Clayton cleared 13 feet even for first place and Will Porterfield marked 10 feet even for fifth place.

McLeod

In the 800m run Keldyn Schubert placed fourth with a time of 2:11.44; in the 1600m run Jonathon McKnight placed fifth at 5:15.56 and Logan McClain sixth at 5:22.44; in the 3200m run Jonathon McKnight placed third at 11:34.00; in the 110m hurdles Nathan Parker placed fourth at 18.00 and in the 300m hurdles Keldyn Schubert placed first at 42.07.

In the Long Jump Keldyn Schubert placed sixth with a leap of 19 feet, 1 1/2 inches; in the Triple Jump

Keldyn Schubert placed third at 39 feet, 6 1/2 inches and Tyler Williams sixth at 38 feet, 3 1/4 inches and in the High Jump Nos Gryder placed second overall with a mark of 6 feet even.

Queen City

In the 110m hurdles Remington Gardner placed sixth at 18.59; the 4x100m Relay team of Spencer Warren, Jeremiah Drayton, Alijuah Drayton and Josh Davis placed third at 45.03; the 4x200m Relay team of the same lineup placed third at 1:34.60 and the 4x400m Relay team of Spencer Warren, Colton Power, Trent Granberry and Alijuah Drayton placed sixth at 3:57.41.

In the Long Jump Alijuah Drayton placed third overall with a mark of 19 feet, 9 inches; in the Shot Put Cedric Davis placed fourth at 39 feet, 3 inches; in the discus Justin Lance placed sixth with a heave of 110 feet, 8 inches; in the Triple Jump Jeremiah Drayton placed fourth at 39 feet, 3 1/2 inches and Quiyon Ellison fifth at 38 feet, 5 1/2 inches; in the High Jump Shawn Powell and Josh Davis tied for fifth place with marks of 5 feet, 6 inches and in Pole Vault Steven Stone placed second with a mark of 11 feet even, Joel Upchurch placed fourth at 10 feet, 6 inches and Spencer Warren placed sixth at 10 feet even.

Atlanta will take part in the Eagle Relays hosted by Tatum ISD Thursday, Mar. 25, and Queen City will run in the Sid Garton Relays the same day which is hosted by New Boston ISD.

Varsity Girls

In the varsity girls’ division host Redwater won the meet with 129 points, Queen City was second with 105 points, Atlanta was third with 93.67 points, New Boston had 66, DeKalb 65, Paul Pewitt 58, Hughes Springs 52.33, James Bowie 24, McLeod 16 and Hooks 8.

Queen City

In the 200 M Dash Nyla Harrison placed fourth at 28.56 and Serenity Oden sixth at 29.53; in the 400 M Dash Serenity Oden finished third at 1:07.59 and in the 300 M Hurdles Toni McCellon placed first with a time of 52.49.

The 4x100 M Relay team of Emma Baker, Ivory Larry, Cassidy Johnson and Nyla Harrison placed second at 52.34 and the 4x200 M Relay team of the same lineup placed first at 1:52.47.

In the Long Jump Ivory Larry placed first with a leap of 16 feet, 7 inches and Emma Baker placed fifth at 14 feet, 10 inches; in Shot Put Chyna Stiger placed first overall at 34 feet, 10 3/4 inches; in Discus Chyna Stiger placed second with a mark of 93 feet, 8 inches, Kacy McCall placed fifth at 71 feet, 9 inches and Erica Lavoie placed sixth at 71 feet, 9 inches; in the Triple Jump Nyla Harrison placed second with a leap of 35 feet, 5 1/4 inches and Serenity Oden placed sixth at 32 feet, 2 1/2 inches and in the High Jump Toni McCellon finished third with a mark of 4 feet, 10 inches.

Atlanta

In the 100 M Dash Tianna Lawson placed third with a time of 13.34; in the 200 M Dash Jennifer Easter placed second with a time of 28.09 and Kym Sheppard was fifth at 28.66; in the 400 M Dash Makayla Martin placed fourth at 1:07.64; in the 800 M Run Kaylon Partain finished second at 2:35.59; in the 1600 M Run Keri Fomby placed third at 6:14.60 and Aurelia Giesler sixth at 6:18.57 and in the 3200 M Run Keri Fomby placed third at 13:16.75 and Aurelia Giesler fifth at 13:44.00.

The 4x100 M Relay team of MaKaylin King, McKenzie Martin, Tianna Lawson, and Jennifer Easter placed third at 52.44; the 4x200 M Relay team of McKenzie Martin, Kym Sheppard, Tianna Lawson and Jennifer Easter placed second at 1:52.75 and the 4x400 M Relay team of MaKaylin King, Kaylon Partain, Makayla Martin and McKenzie Martin placed fourth at 4:37.69.

Jennifer Easter placed third in Long Jump with a mark of 16 feet, 1 3/4 inches and fifth in Triple Jump with leap of 32 feet, 4 1/2 inches; Keymya Smith placed fifth in Shot Put with a heave of 30 feet, 10 3/4 inches and in the High Jump Caitlynn Bailey and Tianna Lawson tied for fourth place with marks of 4 feet, 10 inches.

McLeod

Rielyn Schubert placed first overall in the 3200m run with a time of 13:13.00 and fifth in the 1600m run at 6:16.72 and teammate Ella Lambeth placed fourth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 56.44.

Atlanta’s varsity girls’ squad will take part in the Eagle Relays hosted by Tatum ISD Thursday, Mar. 25, and Queen City’s varsity ladies will run in the Sid Garton Relays the same day which is hosted by New Boston ISD.
