AgriLife Extension, 4-H host events
This year, Texas A&M Extension Service and 4-H Club is host to quite a lot of fun and educational events. On Saturday, Jan. 18, the two, along with Prairie View A&M University held a career and workforce preparation program. Workshops offered included FASFA Application and Resume Activity, College and Career Readiness Practice, and ACT Test Prep and Practice. The program is open to middle school and high school students and is designed to foster knowledge and skills to help students better understand how their learning styles, personality types, and their strengths connect them to the range of options available to them after high school.
Another exciting even they will be hosting is the first annual small animal Petstravaganza.
The event will be hosted at the Cass County Cattlemen’s Association Expo Center on April 4. Classes available are chickens, rabbits, and dogs.
The animals will not need to be registered to participate. Each animal class will have test your knowledge and a costume contest.
Dogs must be current on their rabies vaccination and proof of vaccination must be presented at time of check-in. Kids who want to participate in the test your knowledge event do not need an animal. Registration is at 9 a.m. and the event kicks off at 9:15 a.m. with the test your knowledge event.
