Sunrise 6-12-56 Sunset 7-10-23 Dois Denise (Spratt) Larry was born June 12, 1956, to Dock Spratt and Earnestine Jackson. Growing up Denise was greatly influenced by the patriarchs of the family Claude and Willie Harper. Denise attended Booker T. Washington High School where she was in the band (Majorette of course). She graduated from Atlanta High in 1974. She married Ray Cox and they had her beloved son Braddrick Montread Cox. After the marriage ended, she met and married Roy Lee Larry. For the next forty-Seven years they experienced life through each other’s eyes. Roy’s daily goal was to make her laugh. Her usual response to him would be (You going to hell for that) and then she would laugh. In 1975 she received her associate degree from Texarkana College. She joined the Linden Funeral Home family in the early 80’s. Denise succeeded her father Bragg Chism as the owner in 2008. Under her leadership she molded the staff into a family that cares for families in need. During her time at Linden Funeral Home, Denise met and became lasting friends with countless families, usually in the worst time in their lives.
