Doris Larson Mahaffey

Doris Ann Larson Mahaffey, age 77, of Bivins, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in a Athens, Texas adult care facility. She was born on December 7, 1943 in Denver, Colorado to Carl and Cecil Randels Larson. Doris was a member of Open Door Baptist Church and also loved to attend services at Bethsaida “Y” Baptist Church. She was a master gardener and a member of the Native Plant Society of Texas.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Mahaffey; and her parents.

She is survived by one son, Fred Mahaffey of Rusk, Texas; one daughter, Martha Perella and husband Greg of Zephyrhills, Florida; one brother, John C. Larson of Del Ray Beach, Florida; one sister, Carleen Farrell and husband Lee of Lantana, Florida; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a number of other family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Bethsaida “Y” Cemetery with Dr. Robert Sanders officiating.
