Chair-ity Auction 2026
The Chair-ity Auction is a celebration of community, creativity, and historic preservation in Atlanta, Texas. Two local nonprofit organizations - Atlanta Grade School Friends and 903 Artisans - continue to connect, collaborate, and celebrate the ongoing restoration of the historic 1936 Atlanta Miller Grade School building.
Currently undergoing restoration, the former school stands as an important part of Atlanta’s heritage. The building is recognized with a Texas Historical Marker and is to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
For more than 20 years, Atlanta Grade School Friends, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run entirely by volunteers, has worked tirelessly to preserve this landmark and transform it into a vibrant community space. Donations supporting the project are tax-deductible and help ensure that this historic treasure remains part of Atlanta’s future.
Partnering in this effort, 903 Artisans brings awareness and promotes interest in the arts through community projects, art demonstrations, and workshops. Their members share a wide variety of artistic skills including painting, crocheting, sewing, decoupage, stained glass, and many other creative mediums while displaying their work throughout the Atlanta community.
For the Chair-ity Auction, chairs were generously donated to the 903 Artisans. Each chair has been uniquely refurbished and transformed into a one-of-a-kind work of art by the artisans. These creative pieces showcase the imagination and craftsmanship of local artists while supporting an important community cause.
Before the auction, the chairs will be displayed in various downtown Atlanta businesses, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy this public art exhibit, build excitement for the event and bid on the chairs.
The Chair-ity Auction is more than a fundraiser, it reflects Atlanta’s spirit: neighbors working together to preserve history, celebrate creativity, and strengthen the community through the arts.
Join us for the benefit auction from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 18, at the Faith Community Church of the Nazarene located at 104 North Louise in Atlanta, Texas.
Refreshments will be served during the final bidding. Atlanta Grade School Friends and 903 Artisans appreciate the continued community support and generosity. We are excited to see you there.
