Pavement markings to be added

New pavement markings will be added to more than 200 miles of area roadways in the coming months, according to plans awarded in January by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

“We will be applying thermoplastic pavement markings to areas that were resurfaced last summer,” said Christina Trowler, Director of TxDOT Atlanta District Transportation Operations. “If the roadway does not currently have rumble strips, we will be placing rumble strips as an added safety feature to reduce roadway departure crashes.”

Stripe-A-Zone, LLC was awarded the project with a low bid of $3,492,988. Work is expected to begin in March and take about five months to complete, weather permitting. The estimated completion date is subject to change due to weather and/or other unforeseen circumstances.
