Johnny D. Jones

Johnny Jones, age 73, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 3, 2026 in a local hospital. He was born March 16, 1952 in Atlanta, Texas to Shorty and Billie Jones. Johnny was Baptist by faith and loved squirrel hunting and being outdoors. He was a retired mechanic and enjoyed good food.

Johnny is preceded in death by his sister, Diane Blizzard; and his parents.

He is survived by one brother, Jimmy Jones of Queen City, Texas; sister, Cindy Woods and husband Eddie of Atlanta, Texas; special niece, Becky Pirkey and husband Trey of Texarkana, Texas; special nephews, Joshua Allison and wife Kaycee, Ben Woods and wife Rachel, Blake Woods; and a number of other family and friends.

Graveside services were 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Olive Branch Cemetery, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service, with Butch Blizzard officiating.

Visitation was from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, before the service, at Hanner Funeral Service.
